I tried working on this for almost two hours and I still can't get it going. It just doesn't want to recognize my phone. I checked again and saw I am running 4.1.2.

This doesn't seem all that complicated the way you explain it which makes it more frustrating that I can't do it!

What exactly are you stuck on?

Relaxxxxxx my friend there is the problem... first check if phone is in debugging mode n allow other apps stuff checked... leave the phone in charging mode let ur computer check for drivers installed. If u comp. Does not recognize ur phone try to reinstall driver please. Then connect phone ,, open rootfolder n run..

After that continue w/ da rest

The phone was in debugging mode and the computer did recognize the phone. The root app does not.
 
Another thing ur SW version will not change even with update we still in 4.1.2 ms500b12 this is just under the hood updates... n that nok,nok stuff,,, i went back to 10i. Cus gonna let DEVs wrk a bit more with this update.

Oye go back to the root guide for B12 n read it again. .. cus i just tried to see what happens. And it wrked fine.
Now i hav to downgrade again. It ur phn MS500(metro) or D500(Tmo)?
 
It seems mpcs has released a software update for the f6. Can i install this without having any adverse effects on my rooted phone?

Thanks for letting me know, i will not install the update. What was the update anyhow? Kitkat os android 4.4 or just security updates?
 
I guess I can't have root because when I open super su to install or update binary it says it can't and there is a problem installing the binary or it wasn't installed
 
Is there a way to go back to the older version? I updated and I don't see any way to root with this update. I am still a beginner in rooting.

It looks like people are successfully rooting here, you have to return to the i firmware, root using the saferoot method, get recovery and flash the stock rooted 12b rom
