Root [Virgin Mobile] List of Android 4.4.2 d2spr/d2lte Nightlies [All Compatible With d2vmu] **New Nightlies Available

just to ask what all do i have to flash to get Nameless ROM to work properly (LTE and MMS) on the VM S3. i was thinking
1) rom
2) gapps
3) APN fix #2 or #3

P.S.- my S3 has KNOX installed

My GS3 doesn't have Knox. I got it before it was released with 4.3 pre-installed. But I do have to flash the MD4 modem for Sprint, available at top of thread. But I assume you'd have to flash the MK3 modem. I also have an APN .zip also avaliable at the top of the thread. Try that one. It's always worked for me and it's worked for others. Somewhere in this thread, I also posted a way to get Knox off your phone, if you'd like to.

Since you have Knox, you might want to try flashing the MK3 modem first, then ROM, GAPPS, and APN .zip. Maybe that'll work.

Here's the MK3 modem: SPH-L710SPR_MK3_Modem.zip | SPH-L710SPR_MK3_Modem.zip | by CNexus for Galaxy S 3_Sprint

Sorry guys, I didn't realize I could edit my original post. Ever since I've been having problems with CM11, I wanted to find out what other 4.4.2 ROMs were available. I had no idea there were so many. So, I decided to make this list. I added a couple more that I've found since making this list. Hope you all enjoy.

I was thinking about experimenting with some 4.4 ROMs. I am currently on 4.1.2 stock rooted MG2 (I think that's it). I tried 4.3 stock rooted MK5 but didn't like it and restored my backup. My baseband is however still MK5 as I updated my radio.

Do I need to update my bootloader (I am KNOX-FREE) before I can try any of these ROMs? What is the signifigance of D2lte and D2spr? I can't seem to flash the latest Philz D2lte recovery.

When I see people talking about needing MK3 radios to run these ROMs, will my MK5 suffice?

What exactly does Moped's APN fix do for me?

I don't think you need to update your bootloader. I am KNOX-free also. D2spr is for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 and d2lte means Samsung Galaxy S3 for all carriers like Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. The developers are just able to unify all carriers under d2lte and it'll work for any Samsung Galaxy S3.

So I might be wrong with this because is never had to use MK5 radio. When the GS3 first came out for Virgin, it was 4.1.2 with MD2 radio. But when 4.3 came out, the radio got changed to MK5 I think because of Knox. MK3 is the radio for Sprint GS3. If you have the MK5 radio for Virgin GS3, I think you have to use MK3 if you're going to flash a Sprint (d2spr/d2lte) ROM. I posted the MD4 radio because that was the Sprint GS3 radio before 4.3 and Knox. That's the one I use, but you might have to use MK3 because you already have the MK5 radio.

So, when you flash a Sprint ROM onto a Virgin GS3, the APN settings get messed up. APN is for data and/or MMS. In addition to flashing a Sprint ROM, you need to flash an APN fix so you can be able to use data. I posted one up top with the nightlies that's been working for me. What I understand, Moped's APN fix also works.

I hope that answers everything.

Any of the Virgin mobile MD7 / MG2 / MK5 radio (modems) works with all the lte and Sprint ROMs. No need to flash a sprint radio. Mine came with MG2 and Ive flashed the MK5 radio not too long ago - never had a Sprint radio.

Stick with a Virgin Radio unless you need to switch

Flash ROM
Flash Kernel (Optional)
Flash Gapps
Flash my lte APN fix
boot....profit

:) your APN link is to an older fix of mine. Prob wont get LTE with it. Best to use my newest version if it works.

I actually get LTE just fine. Have to use Handcent to get MMS. But LTE comes in strong with the APN fix I've been using.

Hello I used this method on my rooted virgin mobile s3 after i had flashed the 4 files and tried to reboot nothing happens. Pressing power button does nothing, can not get into recovery or down load mode. Am I out $375.00+ will now be with out a cell phone can't afford a new one Help!!!

First of all, I aot a developer. I just really enjoy exploring the possibilities of the GS3 and Android phones. I've been noticing there isn't a list of Android 4.4.2 nightlies on here, so I decided I would make one.

Here is the list of Android 4.4.2 d2spr/d2lte nightlies available for the GS3. I've used them all except for Liquid Smooth. Whether it's d2spr or d2lte, they will work with our version of GS3. With this, I'm including the .zip file for flashing the Sprint modem and the APN settings necessary for connecting to data because, technically, these are Sprint ROMs and not Virgin Mobile ROMs. At the end are the .zip files for the Android 4.4.2 GAPPS I've been using. I know there are others but I figured I'd include them to be helpful. If you're going to use the Slim ROM, you have to use the Slim GAPPS that's located in the site.

In order to get these ROMs working, be sure to flash in this order:
1) Sprint modem .zip
2) d2spr/d2lte ROM .zip
3) Android 4.4.2 GAPPS .zip
4) APN settings .zip

First, did you pull the battery, hold power for a few, reinsert battery, and try to boot to recovery (Hold volume up, home, and power for a few seconds)? Is your phone recognized when you plug it into a pc? Do you have adb access?

Decided to make a run through the list. Found some dead links. So, I found the new links the ROMs were moved too. Sorry if anybody was looking for a ROM and it wasn't there. Added some links for info about a few ROMs so you know what you're getting into.

Also, looks like the AOSB project is no more. Last build was on 3/11. Don't know if that's a final, stable build or not. I'll leave it up there in case people want to try it out.

Added the Beanstalk d2lte ROM. Been using it for a week. Probably my current favorite ROM. No FCs yet. Smooth transitions. I like their take of the AOSP task switcher. Check it out.

One thing that keeps me on LiquidSmooth is I don't get the stupid 9016 text messages when getting voicemail. Seems other roms have this issue. Anyone know how to fix this or know of other good roms that don't have the issue

On most ROMs there is a setting in security or phone settings that will allow you to blacklist or block texts from 9016. On some ROMs you set it up and it flat out doesn't work. On other ROMs it will work fine.
