Can Someone Help A Chica Out: I am confused...

Okay After my initial affair on my eris with my incredible(and returning it to the idiot who brought it for me), I realized I either

A)I am through with Android
B)At least give Evo a chance...

I am having some issues with a few things...

1)I recorded to clips today of me and some girls I am doing a fashion show with doing a dance routine...they are both like 28 secs..

However when i go into my videos I can't see an option to send the videos,
I used Astro to browse and try an email it still didn't send to the people and then i even tried sending both files through my computer gmail and neither received it...

So is there a limit on sending a file through gmail to another gmail account because my friends told me they got an email but it was blank? And they have a mytouch 3g and another sprint hero...

I think gmail limits attachments to 10MB.

As for how to send the videos, never used either those phones but on my Hero, and my previous phones Samsung Behold 2 and Moment, all I had to do was go into the gallery, then select share from there. You can also open the camcorder and touch the spot for opening the video gallery there too.

I just sent myself a video that was a minute and a half (4.2MB file). I received it and was able to download and play on the computer.

Really? That's great, thought it was half that. I remember having my ISP lock my account once because someone sent me 10 1MB files.

Yeah I had a 17 MB file that I could not send through hotmail so I sent it through gmail. It said: 17 MB out of 20 MB. Remember not everyone will be able to receive a file that big. Bigger files should be uploaded using FTP.

i meant sending from my hero gmail account to my friends mytouch 3g or hero gmail account


Does the same 20 mb thing apply to the mobile version of gmail

your hero should be no different from your computer.

WELL CHICA!!! after i upgraded my hero to 2.1 everything works fine, mayb itz a problem with 1.5. b4 i upgrade it to 2.1 i coulnt send pictures!!

although i want to do root lol....

When i rooted my moto droid back in like march
this real nice guy PMED me
and we imed and he literally talked me through every step.

Yeah, i had the steps there to read
but it made it more easy for me to ask
every stupid question

lol i wish he had a hero

is there a 2.1 leak like there is for the Eris?
Would the leak work on the hero that works for the eris?

this is the 2.1 leak i used for the htc hero works fine for me!!

The actual process that you go through to root the Hero is much different than the Eris. There's two methods; automated and manual. You'll find all the answers to your questions here: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-sprint-hero/38911-guide-root-rom-faq-tutorial.html

Keep in mind that this is for the Sprint HTC Hero only

I'd definitely recommend using a 2.1 custom ROM over the 2.1 leaked RUU. The RUU updates your hboot and you can't reverse it...just seems like something that would be better left to the official, sprint supported RUU. Plus, you won't get any advantages using the leaked RUU over a custom ROM...the opposite actually.

I'm running DamageControl 2.07.2 and have no problem sending a video via gmail from my phone and then downloading and watching it on my PC.

if you put these files on your computer and tried to send them via gmail and it didn't work, that's not something rooting your phone will fix.

true that....does sound wierd


about rooting.. you have a sprint cdma hero ... right?
if so...do not use the Leaks...
Make sure what you do is for the sprint hero, or you will be sorry!!!!!!!!!!!
and always do a nandroid backup!!

Use one of the ROMs, instead of the RUU.. I highly suggest DamageControl 2.07.02
it is very stable and everything should work great.
