I had this phone for a few months and it has been working really good but recently I dropped my phone at knee level. The screen did not crack but I noticed that there is a horizontal line about the size of my pinky finger that us unresponsive on the top of my phone. Please help! Anyone know what it is? This phone has been working well for me! What can u do to fix it? I tried turning it on and off. Do you think it was the digitizer? If so how much would it cost to fix?

You would have to replace the whole screen assembly, the LCD screen and digitizer are glued together in this device. $60 or so depending on where you get it and up to $100 additional if you have it done by a professional.

The replacement job is doable by someone with some technical knowledge, but the G2 is a little more than many devices for screen replacement.

call and get a warranty replacement if its only a few months old......... this is not from you dropping your phone and I wouldnt mention that when you call as they will try to use that excuse.

a healthy percentage of the G2s have had this problem in the first year so far......... a 1/4" dead spot about an inch or so from the top, the width of the screen....... or vertical lines on the screen

next youll lose "knock-on" (knock-off) will still work......... then youre screen will start acting erratically .... scrolling around on its on

do a little searching (especially at XDA) and you'll see what Im talking about...... it was originally thought to have something to do with certain ROMs causing overheats...... but many who arent even rooted are experiencing the same issues

when you call for a replacement they will already know what youre talking about......... theyre replacing A LOT of them.... mine is due to arrive today :)
