Zv6 Minimal Edition

*Rooted, debloated, deodexed!

Installation

1. Advanced wipe> Dalvik cache, system, data, cache, internal storage.

2. Install zip

3. Reboot the system, and wait! The very first boot after flashing will take a long time. This is normal. Every boot after that will take about 15 seconds.

4. Go to Settings>System Updates and select update profile to get 4g LTE working again. I also recommend updating the prl.

5. Enjoy!

Installed it on my LG Tribute. Currently using mine as a Wifi media device, including Chromecast. Also have a few games installed. Hopefully someone else can chime in on internet performance with this rom, while on VM.

Works very well, thank you.
I tried that ROM because it was a minimal one, thinking it was going to resolve the problem of "Can't install app, insufficient storage available". But no, I installed few apps, I'm using Link2sd to send everything to the sdcard. Even with that and 2 1.2 gig free internal and system, cache, external having plenty of free space, i'm still get the insufficient storage error.
Anybody knows how to fix that?

Since you are rooted look on app store for app SDFIX by developer NextApp, Inc. This app just needs installed, ran once, then you can uninstall it. It fixes the KitKat SD card restrictions. After app is run you can then configure your apps to save/write to your SD card. Link2SD works but this will allow all apps to use SD card and should help with available storage.

Hope this info helps

thanks, and I think I found a fix, I changed, in Link2sd, the "install directory" option to automatic instead of choosing external.

Glad you are moving in right direction. If you have not used SDFIX, or similar, I recommend looking in to it. It does help with space as you are able to use your SD card as with older roms. I ran this and also use Link2SD and only time I have come into issues is if I have not changed a save location.

I can probably enable that by default without any issues. Same with the SD fix. That one is just a permissons edit. I'll look into making another version with these changes already implimented. There is a tethering fix in our threads, you may need to install xposed framework (briefly, you dont have to keep it) to make that work. Be wary of carrier restricions, I've used it very sparsely, even though Virgin mobile at least, I don't believe will give you any crap until you hit like 6gb, might be more.

Edit; I should probably mention I've always used the SD fix, and I've never had a storage issue since. Works great.

Do you need to be zv6 too install this, or can you install it over a rooted zv5?

No, you don't need to be on ZV6. It would be a great idea to do a nandroid of your current installation, plus a Titanium backup of all your apps (or whatever app you prefer using to back up apps + data like MyBackup, etc.) Simply follow the OP's directions, and it should just work. It's not a good idea to dirty flash this on top of your current setup.

I've been doing some testing and I'll hopefully have a themed rom soon. I'm working on some UI changes, advance power menu, and looking into the possibility of modding our built in theme engine for skinning, icon changes and more. I did manage to get it working, and some LG G3 themes will work on it, nothing fantastic yet though. I'm also trying to implement auto rotate for the homescreen and app drawer. I almost got it working, I'm just having some layout issues that need fixing. (Might port cm11's launcher for it.) LG did everything in their power to make this device not rotate. (Multiple redundancies using PORTRAIT_VIEW_ONLY.) Not to mention certain parts common to AOSP have been improperly named across the SystemUI, framework-res, and home apks. It's a huge pain in the ass, but I'm getting somewhere. (Pun mildly intended.)

modhatter, you should consider helping with porting Cyanogenmod :D Especially since UnjustifiedDev is currently sick lol

Ps. You don't have to but it seems like you already have a lot of experience with roms so..... ;)

I would say that I have "some" experience with roms. Mostly just tweaking them so they operate how I like it. I do plan on building from source though. I've attempted to build several times for this phone, though I've yet to make anything to be honest. First I couldn't set up the build environment correctly, only to realise after much headache, that it was due to updating parts of builduntu. It was breaking things. Then, once I finally figured out how to update it without ruining everything, it's dynamic memory setting screwed me from being able to build. It's set to a default of 250GB which I can't seem to change, and my current pc only has 170GB of space left... So, big problem there. I do have some good news in spite of all of this though. We just did our taxes last week, and my wife gave me the go ahead to drop the better part of $1,000 on a new pc. I'm hoping to order the parts in a week or less. All of those issues are about to go out the window. Hello dual boot! I am getting a new phone too. No worries though, once this tribute gets replaced, I will continue to work on it. I'm going to use it as a test bed for learning. With any luck I'll bring something good to the table. I can't make any promises, but I can damn sure try with everything that I've got. Worst case, I'll learn something.

Hello, Modhatter6811. I keep having trouble downloading this one. It gives me an error message that states:

"C:\DOCUME~1\X-1\LOCALS~1\Temp\c4grfLVg.zip.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator."

Could you please check and see what might be the cause? Thanks in advance...
