A leak reveals what could be Android N's new notification shade and Quick Settings panel

Google has been working on Android's notification shade and Quick Settings panel for a few years now and it looks like Android N will bring some more changes with it.

If true, notifications will no longer be shown as individual cards and instead will be thinner and 'connected'. As far as Quick Settings go, the leak suggests that Google is going with a more flat look with a grid layout like we had it in KitKat.

... I like what I see.

The notification panel seems like a more efficient use of the space to me. I also like that it has a few toggles at the top of the notification panel rather than tucked on the secondary Quick Settings page. And on that note, horizontal pagination should make it easier to deal with all of the toggles and shortcuts I've added with the Custom Quick Settings app. I hate having to scroll all the way to the bottom of that pane to get at my music shortcut, particularly in landscape mode. :D
