I have a new PNY 128gb card with speed up to 60 MB/s that I was thinking about using. I know there are several factors to consider.

I know that Samsung shut down the adoptable memory feature of marshmallow, but can we still manually send some apps to the card? Or can the card only be used for files, photos and video?

What speed of card is acceptable? Is my 60 MB/s fast enough, or will this slow down my phone and should I opt for a 90 MB/s card?

Any thoughts on the subject are appreciated.

I just read an article today that indeed Samsung shut down the adoptable memory, but it looks like they allow apps to be moved to the SD card. From the pictures of that feature, this looks different from the Apps to SD feature that exists in that it looks like it may move both the app and data to the SD card (where the former, it would just move the app, but not the data, which could be a lot larger than the app). It also said that the carriers may disable that function, so this may be moot - but it would be interesting if indeed Samsung allowed you to move both app and data to the SD since that would then resolve some memory issues that come with installing a lot of big apps.

I don't think I have any 60MB/s cards since it looks like all of mine are either 80MB/s or 90MB/s - but I am guessing this comes into play more with recording HD or 4k video to the card which if you plan to do, I would probably opt for the faster cards. If it's just for music/photos - then I don't think it'll make much of a difference.

Just because it's new Samsung phones I just wanted the EVO and Best Buy said theirs was a class 10 but I did see on Amazon a regular and a plus and the plus is the one i want the 80mbs. We're getting from Sprint now not BB. But I had bought a Sandisk Ultra 64 one off Amazon and then my husband wanted one so I gave it to him ordered a new one and it turned out the new one wasn't from Amazon it was some China company. I ordered the exact same one but they sent me a slower speed one by mistake so they didn't charge me and I got to keep it and i can't find it so I thought for $20 bucks or so I would get a new one. Thanks! I'll go with EVO Plus

Bought this for my S7 Edge. So far it's working great.

Sandisk 128gig. 80MB/s and it's pretty cheap compared to the 200 GB cards. And honestly are you really going to fill up 200 GB on a phone? Save your movies to the cloud.
Which cloud? And cloud storage is only any good if one is online with sufficient, preferably unlimited bandwidth.

I got a couple of 2TB hard drives full of movies.
