Help How to disable miss call notification on lock screen?

Whenever I have a missed call, that annoying notification appears on my lock screen. When I press "clear" it goes away temporarily, but after a reboot it just comes right back. Even if I pull down my notification panel and clear it there, it just comes back after a reboot. It won't go away until I actually go into my dialer and view the recent missed call(s).

I've scoured the forums and I can't find anyone with an answer of how to disable missed call notifications in the lock screen. Anytime I have a missed call and I don't clear it, it will say the contact name of the missed call until I clear it from the call log. I only want TEXT message notifications on my lock Screen, vibration and the blue LED. I do get those. I've gone to settings/notifications/advance/more turn it off there. Also gone to apps/phone/settings and don't see where to turn it off there? Anyways, I still get the miss call notifications.

It's terribly annoying.

Disable/enable lock screen notifications: If you don't want notifications on your lock screen, head to settings > lock screen and security > notifications on lock screen. This lets you show content, hide content or disable notifications completely.

Hide some lock screen notifications: If you never want lock screen notifications from a particular app (like a messaging app, or annoying game), head into notifications on lock screen as above, then you'll get a list of all your apps. Switch off the apps and you'll never get lock screen notifications from them.

Instant access to lock screen notifications: Just tap a notification twice and it will open up the app. Want to dismiss it? Just swipe it away.

Hide content in some app notifications: If you want to have notifications on your lock screen, but hide sensitive information in some of those apps (like a messaging app), first enable lock screen notifications to show content as above. Then head into settings > notifications > ADVANCED. Here you can manage the notifications of each individual app. You can opt to hide content from the lock screen here for specific apps.

To turn off notifications on an app: Go to settings > applications > application manager. Tap on the app you want. In notifications you can block all notifications for any app on your device.

To turn off pop-up notifications on an app: Go to settings > applications > application manager. Tap on the app you want. In notifications you can turn off pop-up notifications, so you don't get a notification for that app appearing at the top of your screen when it arrives.

Thanks for the post. That is the thing... I did a heavy online search for the past two days, ended up doing everything you listed above but CANNOT get rid of the missed call notification on my lock screen until I actually go into my dialer and review or delete it.
Now you can see how frustrated I am.

Yep i think missed call notifications are shown by default whether you like it or not unfortunately. As the device's primary function is to be a phone

You can swipe it away from the notifications though.

Well, I don't like it as the miss call icon will show up and override any text messages if there are any on the lock screen. I'm nearly deaf and don't use the phone part. Text and Email are important for me. I wonder if rooting the phone can change that? I haven't rooted a phone for several years now, mostly because it voids the warranty.

Yep that should be possible under a root kit, if a dev knows about it and decides to do something about it.

Try the following.

Go to Manage Apps/application manager and scroll down to Phone (you might find more than one listing, make changes to all)
Tap on Phone/Notifications and turn on slider "Hide on lock screen".

That should do it

One of the many things I already tried the past few days and NOPE, it still shows up on on my locked screen.
I double checked all three phone apps in there too. Applications/Application manager/More/Show system apps
Seems like I'm going to be stuck with this call notification on my locked screen unless I root and I'm not going to do that as it will void my warranty.

Another thing you can do to ensure you don't miss the text and email is to go into Settings, Notifications, then click Advanced at the top. Find your SMS app (Messages or whatever app you are using) and click on it. On the next page, click on "Set as priority". Do the same for your email client.
This ensures that any notification for those apps will remain at the top of the notification panel.

The only drawback is that this "includes" them in the Allowed list while in Do Not Disturb mode. But if you don't use a scheduled DND, it may work to your advantage.

Thanks Snakeyeskm & Justafew, I'll try both. Won't really know until wifey gets home so I can use her phone to test. I don't get too many calls anyways as most people know I'm nearly deaf, so they don't call... the only calls I get are the spammer types and why I want them gone.
