Root Cyanogenmod 13 Beta 1

I've had it installed as my daily driver (with another phone as backup) for a few days now. Overall, not too bad for a beta. Aside from the none-working things listed in OP's post, the following didn't work well for me.
1. Green tint with the rear facing camera.
2. WiFi Hotspot freezes and reboot sometimes.
3. SuperSU can't be installed, while the built-in root support is still buggy (or not compatible with some apps).
4. No App-2-SD option anymore. You have to format the SD card as internal memory to use it, but TWRP doesn't understand it. So backup and restore is a hassle with that approach. In the end, I left it as external and learned to live with smaller ROM.
5. The phone's ringer dies until reboot, if more than one app try to access it. I have Hangout (Google voice) taking my calls and at the same time forwarded to my phone number. Normally with all other phone I hear both Hangout and phone ring at the same time when my Google voice number is called, but with this ROM only Hangout rings. The normal phone app shows the incoming call but no sound. After that, even a normal incoming call doesn't ring anymore, only the display works. To live with this problem, I enabled the vibration, so at least I can feel it when a call comes.
6. Here map takes really long time to load.
7. No MS Exchange client. This can be solved with a service pack.

Does your camera allow you to focus at all? I am having an issue with the camera not focusing.

Exchange services are provided by gapps, not CyanogenMod. You'll want to get micro or higher.

Have you tried junking the stock camera app and using Open Camera on playstore. Much better camera app and I believe it cures the green thing.

Agree the root thing is buggy. FixSD wont work on anything but stock KitKat. Hopefully these things get fixed. Other than that I like this ROM as a daily driver its so much better than any kitkat I've seen so far. For now I'll have to transfer stuff manually once a month to SD card using root explorer app.

If anyone is looking for a great easy to see dark theme try Colors Dark CM13 on playstore it's real nice imo.
I just tried Open Camera, with the same result. I think it's more of a HW/SW compatibility issue. The only ROMs worked for me is the original (or stripped) stock ROM, and CM11 2015-1-12 build. All other ROM had the green tint issue -- very strange. But thanks though.

Yeah that's what I thought, so I installed micro from opengapps. But there's no Exchange option in Gmail app to setup the Exchange account. So I had to install the service pack, after which, the option appeared and I was able to setup the Exchange account.

I just had a couple of nasty system hangs today, completely frozen and unresponsive. I think it's because I started loading apps and really using the phone I finally hit a bug. I'm not sure at all what could have caused it but I attached the /proc/last_kmsg I was able to grab directly after the hang once I hard rebooted the phone.

EDIT: I see something in the segfault that mentions a "swapper" not sure what that is but I did not have a swapfile or swap partition, just zram was turned on by default.

My phone has been freezing as well. It has frozen 3 times now but I wasn't doing anything on the phone in particular before the freeze. The very first time it happened, I tried to pull the phone out of sleep and it was very slow and almost unresponsive until it just outright froze and forced me to do a hard shutdown. The next two times my phone wouldn't even wake up so I had to do hard shut downs for both of those as well. This is a big issue for me because I use the phone's alarm for work, and if its frozen the alarm doesn't go off...

I have a few questions after installing this rom:

  1. The FM Tuner App Next Radio is complaining that it does not have access to my FM Tuner chip. Is there a solution for this? Next Radio worked on the stock OS from Virgin Mobile.
  2. SuperSU wants to update its binary but doing the "normal" installation option returns an error after about 15 seconds of trying. I selected the other option to use TWRP to do the binary update, but SuperSU never reboots my device and when I manually reboot to recovery, there is no ZIP file anywhere I can find to install the SU Binary. I looked around the cache folder and a few others on some suggestions from other forums but no luck.
Also I'm aware of the known issues with this installation: no vibration, no home-button light.

For the record, I have no green tint on my camera. I don't know if that has anything to do when I bought my device or possibly about having bought it from Virgin Mobile.

Everything else seems to be working as far as I've tested. I had an option in my Cellular network settings that caused the UI to crash when pressing on it, but now the option is no longer there... I don't know what caused this behavior and can't specifically remember what the option was called, sorry.

Also for the record, my boot time from start logo to home screen is approximately 38 seconds. Is that expected or normal?

I posted this on another forum thread but realized that rom issues go here. The SuperSU thing is well documented so I'm just preaching to the choir about that, but I would like to know about the FM Tuner chip and if anybody else has had problems.

Also I'd be willing to help with android dev if someone would be willing to patiently answer some of my questions and point me to the right documentation on this device. I've never done android software engineering before but I did just graduate with a software engineering degree so I'm not completely useless. Please let me know if I can be of any use.

Tried that. Didn't work
The last thing that worked for me is click career settings on the cellular networks settings menu. If you don't know how to get there you just hold and click your data and it'll take you there. At the very bottom click career settings and it'll force close it causing the sim to be undetected but it'll come back.

It used to be there but it isn't anymore.
