Buzzing speaker

As I wait impatiently for 2.1 I have been more and more bothered by a buzzing in the ear piece. I saw a couple posts on this but they seem to be talking about the external speaker. Mine is the ear-piece, and it seems to go away when I turn the volume down. Could the speaker be blown? I'm still under warranty but I wonder if this is a common problem?

Sounds like it is blown. Mine doesnt buzz.

mine just started doing this . . . do i still have a warranty if i purchased this phone off of craigslist? it was brand new when i got it.

Mine did the same thing. I called verizon monday. They sent me a new one. Got it yesterday.

My first phone did this. I called up Verizon and they sent me a replacement.

were they refurbs? when i would hang up my phone it would make this little beep. now i hear a click.

Mine is a refurb, but it works just fine. Haven't ever heard of a beep or click. The one I had replaced would crackle horribly.

I'm guessing the phone has a manufacturer warranty, but not from Verizon since I didn't get it from them. Can someone please help? It seems to be getting worse.

Sounds like I'll have to make a stop at the Verizon store. I hope that they have made some improvements since I did not get the insurance on it.

As far as not getting it from verizon, you may have to contact HTC. I'm not really sure about that one, but I'd say it's definitely worth a shot. Or you might call verizon and just ask what your options are.

called verizon and they are sending me a "like new" replacement. dont know if im too happy about that. should i go into a verizon store and see if theyve got a new one for me?

Crazy timing on this thread, mine started doing this out of the blue last night for seemingly no reason. Good to know I'm not alone I guess

i figured (for the hell of it) that i would take some compressed air and blow the sh!t of of te earpiece speaker. Problem solved! i dont get the buzzing anymore. maybe you should try the same. now i just have to call Verizon and cancel my replacement.

Tried blowing it out, no help. Took it in to the Verizon store and they are having a new phone mailed to me. I hope this doesn't show up in the new phone.

hopefully its not one of the "like new" phones thats being sent out to me. yup, couldnt cancel the order so im getting it anyway. they said i just need to mail it back and ill be ok. sorry the compressed air didnt work.

Just to follow up I didn't even have to get canned air. I have a Rocket Blower that I use to clean out my cameras (rubber bulb-like thing that you squeeze with your hand in case anyone isn't familiar with it), knocked the problem out pretty quickly.
