Help Download from Google photos

I just learned to use Google Drive.
IMO, it is a hell of a lot better.
You can install "Local Folders" on each device and they all sync up like magic.

No "Downloading" required, it is already on the device in your hands, or on your office desk.

This became extremely critical for me 3 days ago. My wife is in hospital facing a life threatening surgery and diabetic end stage disease problems. The family is all wanting to be "Kept In The Loop" as all of us would be.

I use my cellphone and Voice Recorder app to capture every staff conversation, nurse, maid, doctor.... you just never know when the magic word is going to pop up and give you that "important piece of info"

I then immediately rename that recording, click on Share, and then click on Drive....
Job 1 done.... in a heart beat. I don't even have to wonder how long it takes for the upload to occur.
If the hospital's WiFi gets clogged up, Google just makes the upload "Pending" and then later it sees the WiFi is unclogged, and poof! up goes the file to Drive

sorry for the long diatribe, but I think it is pertinent to your situation.

If you long press on individual photos a blue circle with white checkmark will show up in the upper right corner. You can scroll down and select additional photos selecting them the same way. When you're done picking the photos, all the selected ones will have that little blue/white circle and all the non-selected ones with just an empty circle. If you tap on that triangle-shaped (three dots with two connecting lines) icon in the top menu bar, a menu screen with lots of different options will pop up on screen. Selecting one like 'Create link' will create a web link you can send to someone. When they open that link in their browser, it will open up an online Google Photos page that contains those selected photos.
