Help Rooted RCA 10 Viking Pro RCT6303W87DK Cannot Setup

Hello,

I have recently rooted my tablet, the RCA 10 Viking Pro, with KingoRoot. After the root was complete, I installed Titanium Backup to remove some bloatware, I regretfully deleted Google Play Services as I thought it was not needed along with other google apps. I went to open Subway Surfers shortly after and it quit before finishing loading with the following error message "Unfortunately, Google Play Services/Store has stopped" (Now I don't remember whether it displayed Google Play Services or Google Play Store) That's when I remember about deleting Google Play Services, so I reinstalled it off the internet. After successfully installing Google Play Services, I opened the app again to find the same error. So I cleared the cache and data of the Google Play Store app, Google Play Services app, and Subway Surfers app. Once again I opened Subway Surfers with the same error. I figured a factory reset might help in my case and that is what I did.

I started setting up the tablet like it was new until I reached the WiFi Setup, this is where the problems began. I would enter the correct WiFi Connection information and then the tablet would do it thing, Check Connection, Check For Updates and then a screen with "Just a sec" is shown with the error message "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped." When I select "Ok" on the error message it redirects me back to select WiFi and the cycle is endless. I booted the device into recover mode and preformed another factory reset. The same issue still occurs.

Is there anyway to save my tablet?

Hi, yeah you've messed it up pretty good. Sorry to put it that way. Deleting anything Google can be hazardous. You're going to have to flash stock firmware. I haven't found any official release but I did find an unofficial thread. This is great news. Look through there, maybe make some friends, especially if you plan on tinkering more. It looks like a good resource. Make sure you install TWRP next time.

I don't have any knowledge of that particular device. I think there are decent instructions in that thread.

What I do know is once a system app has been removed a factory reset does not help. Flashing firmware will.

Edit:Just checked. There are excellent directions starting in post #2. You are lucky to have this resource for an inexpensive tablet.

I have started following the steps from the provided source but have come to a roadblock.

Step #2:
"2- Plug your tablet in as such: turn off the tablet. Plug a male to male USB wire from the computer to the USB port on the tablet. now plug the power wire into the tablet. now very quickly in the device manager locate the new device and right click on it. select "update driver software" then select "browse my computer for driver software" and "browse". Now navigate to the driver folder, select the "CDC" folder and click on "OK" the "Next". The driver should install at this point. Once that is done, unplug the power cable from the tablet."

When I try to update the driver software with the provided CDC folder I get the following error message:

Do you know how to restart with options. Windows 10 won't installed unsigned drivers by default. You have to change that setting pre start up.

Dang. There are a lot of posts in that thread. I'm sure the answer is there. I wont get on my soapbox, and I'm not anti-root but I see this frequently, with many different devices. The bigger names tend to have more readily available restoration methods. This, in my opinion should be researched prior to any rooting. In a nutshell, you bought a cheap device and borked it. You're not the first and definitely wont be the last. Keep reading the thread, be patient.
