How to remove Google search bar?

Yo.. got Xiaomi Mi A1.. love the android but I'm really pissed that I didn't found any solution how to remove that damn Google search bar at the top of my screen..

Then it's embedded in the default launcher.
You'll need to install a 3rd party launcher from the play store, such as Nova launcher, or any other

I was affraid of this.. don't want another launcher.. the only thing that really pisses me off is this bar. Wondering why in the hell did someone a bar that cannot be removed like any other widget..

Yes but can't change the home screen. After pressing the "Home button" it will always lead me to the home screen.. and there's the bar

Anyways googled a bit and it seems like the only way is to root my phone which I don't want to.. so good job google..

Try long pressing and pulling up to the top of the screen. Did you see an X or a trashcan? If yes, move it there.

Long press doesn't work in this case. Found that many users have this problem too..

Is there a reason why you don't want another launcher? Both Nova and Apex have free versions that give you a whole lot more features which you have no obligation to use. And they don't really add any overhead to your phone.

Yes you can change the home screen...install another launcher like nova.

Its free, easy, completely reversible, doesn't require root, wont effect your warranty... I can't see a downside.

Or use a different launcher, which is just an app install rather than modifying the system as rooting is.

Anyway, Google's business is search so their launcher has the search bar as a central feature. Xiaomi chose to ship the phone with that launcher, so the blame is at least as much theirs as Google's.(whether you'd rather have had Xiaomi's own interface is a different question). My Pixel has the same thing, and so switching launcher was literally the first thing I did. Honestly I don't know why you think it's a bit deal.
