Movies You Watch Again and Again...

1408 from 2007 with John Cusack and Samuel Jackson. The best haunted room movie I've ever seen until maybe 'The Whistling Room' by William Hope Hodgson is turned into a full lentgh movie. Haunted rooms are creepy stuff.

That was a very enjoyable book from Stephen King, or novelette he calls some stories., and I don't read very much. I now cannot remember if I saw the movie but it rings a bell.

I liked Red Dawn as well. I'm a sucker for most all war movies except Vietnam war movies. Just too personal for me.
My movie interests center around actors, actresses, and directors I enjoy. The most recent movie release that I watched and enjoyed was Gran Torino. It might well be the last new movie I've watched actually. Give me an old movie and I'm a captive viewer however. I especially enjoy the escapism flicks that came out in the thirties and forties.
Not only did they capture a far more innocent time, they can be viewed without much thought and zero concerns.
It's impossible for me to compile a list of favorite movies. If it's a B&W movie I'm sure I've seen it multiple times.

Some friends on facebook were passing this around and it got me to thinking that it might be useful to see what others have become addicted to over the years. I mean if the same movie shows up on lots of folks' "hit lists" then the odds are the rest of us would like it.

Here's a few of mine, in alphabetical order...and yes, I apologize in advance, there are a couple of rom-coms on here. ;)

Apollo 13
Back to the Future (all)
Big
Contact
Die Hard (1)
E.T.
Finding Forrester
Get Shorty
Good Will Hunting
Groundhog Day
The In-Laws (original)
Indiana Jones (all of them except the short round one)
It's a Wonderful Life
Lord of the Rings (all)
Love, Actually
The Matrix (1)
Miracle on 34th Street
Notting Hill
Pulp Fiction
Searching for Bobby Fisher
Shawshank Redemption
Silverado
Stand By Me
Star Wars 4-6
Terminator (1)
The Whole Nine Yards

So what's yours?

Once Upon a Time in the West.
High Plains Drifter.
Powder.
The Unforgiven.
Two Mules for Sister Sara.
Big.
The Navigator.
The Crucible.
Pumpkinhead.
Training Day.
Leviathan.
Miracle on 34th Street.
Red Dawn.
Meet Joe Black.
Trip to Mars.
Christmas Story.
Scrooged.
The Hills Have Eyes.

Decade after decade, first answer to this question: Chinatown. No contest. Again and again.

Other greats (lower case "g"), second drawer:
(various) Scorsese, Goodfellas comes to mind.
This is Spinal Tap
Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Airplane
(various)
Coen bros, Blood Simple comes to mind.......And as I look at their list, I realize I have much to look forward to.......several I have not seen!

These are actually all on my list. I would add Old School and the Godfather 1 and 2

I'd watch Blood Simple if it was ever on but that's pretty much never.

I get that, we previously "talked" about this movie.

Seriously, watch it. Even if you have no interest in chess, it's a seriously-enjoyable movie. Stellar performances and a compelling story, particularly since it is based on a true story, not just a Hollywood romp. More than 90% of people who have seen the movie recommend it, which puts it in very exclusive territory. ;)
I too loved that movie as well, it is such a great quality movie all the way through :D
