My question is I am trying to do some hex editing for an Android game that I play (increasing the amount of coins/cash in my inventory), but I'm not sure exactly which file to open up.

I will attach a screenshot of what I get when I open a file with my hex editor (the program I use is Hex Editor Free).

That sounds like what I used to with Commodore 64 and Amiga games back in the day, using Action Replay or Game Genie cartridges, where I could enter certain hex codes into a game and it would give me infinite lives, or infinite ammo, or make me indestructible, etc. But these cheat cartridges were hardware devices plugged into the computer, and the hex codes were all documented. However I'm quite certain there's no cheat cartridges made for Android,

Thing is, you might have a hex editor app and the game files, but you'd need to find the exact bytes you have to edit to achieve your desired cheat in the game. Of course I don't know what game you want to hex edit, but it may have countermeasures against hacking/tampering, like running CRC checks.

Yeah, when I used to do hex editing for playing PC games, I'd have separate sheets for where to find exact bytes and how to convert hex code to decimal, etc. I recall using some kind of cheat engine for PC games; but not the specific name (it may have been HxD).

Well if I figure it out, great. If not, I'll just keep playing normally.
