overheating problem?

okay, so i'm running eris 2.1 v3, and i've had a overheating problem since i've taken the leap and stopped using a task killer. now every single time i charge my phone, it will charge extremely slowly and overheat to as high as 133 degrees.....

i'm assuming that the problem is apps running after i believe i've closed them (closed by menu->close, or the back button until homescreen) but i thought that the apps end up closing themselves, am i doing something wrong?

i'm sure this behavior isn't at all good, so someone please help!

You don't want too much running in the background for more than one reason.. but I suspect a battery problem; they do go bad once in a while and one way they can go bad is to over heat the device they're in.

Most often it's a stock battery that was not really that good to begin with.

I'd see if the problem went away with another battery before taking further action.

Does your battery die quickly? Some open apps use a lot of CPU and cause your phone to heat up over time. That's what's going on with you. You have a rogue app that is staying open or opening and it is constantly using the CPU, thus heating your phone and battery.

Unless Frisco is correct with the battery and you have some type of short or the sort gong on.

i don't think that it's the battery, because when i was charging it without it being on, it did get to like 40% rather quickly, unless that's just the normal habit of the phone since i believe it's supposed to charge quickly first, then get the last amounts of battery power in a longer amount of time.. so i think it's an app, but i don't know how to find out which one it is, because in the battery info cell standby has been using 50 percent of my battery...

before you go out and waste money on a new battery, download a dang task killer! ignore all the system apps/apps that open all the time, then auto kill the ones that you use sparingly.

After you do a factory reset. Install one app at a time. It's cumbersome and sucks to have to do, but you can isolate the problem if you install one at a time and watch the behavior to see if one is making your phone go haywire.
