Is it free for the first month or do they just charge you for it right away and you have to opt out of it...i dont think ive ever heard how that will work.

so what happens if you're not in a 4G spot but still opt to pay for it? it seems from the article that it does not work on 3G right now and you'll have to wait til Jul for them to flip the switch. or am I reading it wrong? anyone knows?

Hmm yeah I guess it isn't clear.. I think they just have no way to activate it on 4g. With EVDO all your purchased services get authenticated when you first activate your phone so if you don't have the 29.99 add on the 3g portion won't be enabled. This is an assumption though. Makes sense to me
