Help Barcode Scanner issues?

Anyone else with an Evo having this problem... I'm using Barcode Scanner (Barcode Scanner - Android app on AppBrain )

When it first starts, it finds a QR code just fine, and prompts me with 3 options..

Both share options work fine, but the Web Search does nothing at all.. it simple returns me to the camera as if it's going to rescan the barcode but it never locks on after that. Restarting the app catchs the barcode again but still no response when pressing the search... is there some other setting that's not letting it access the browser? Or is the application bugged on the EVO?

Mine works fine. Web search runs a Google query for the scanned product number, as expected.

Hmm I've noticed that the button changes text...
When it says "Found URL" the button says "Open Browser" , that works fine.. and loads normal web URLs, and Market URLS.

I'm trying to find the QR code that gave me the problem.. but I remember the button said "Search Web" and not Open Browser, so perhaps searching doesn't work...

Have to find some codes that provide that text I guess...

Possible it was a QR code for a badly-formed URL. URL got sent to the Browser, which said "wtf is this?" and sent it back.

I've used Barcode Scanner on many, many URLs (in fact I use the QR add-on for Firefox) and have never had any problems with a properly made code.

I had the same problem. My SM would do shop savvy just fine and I remembered it has a 3.1mp camera. I reduced my EVO camera MP to 3MP and it works great.

I had the same problem. My SM would do shop savvy just fine and I remembered it has a 3.1mp camera. I reduced my EVO camera MP to 3MP and it works great.

Hmm I haven't played with the camera much... is that a Camera setting or a Shop Savy setting to reduce MPs? I've not seen an option labeled as such (Though I've not looked very hard in all honesty)

i have another problem
when i scan with the zxing barcode scanner it does scan
but when it wants to give results
it kinda crashes
i get something like: the application Barcode scanner (proces com.google.zxing.client.android) has closed unexpactatly. try again
(tis translated so its not very good but i tried )
and then the whole app closes
and it happens everytime with every single barcode
please help me

i use goggles and barcode scanner with no issues at all. quite possible just an issue with that scanner
