Is there such a widget?

I'm looking for a widget that will pop up a window with my favorite contacts and allow me to dial them. Then the popup window will disappear. Is there any such thing?

I got the idea from using Apps Organizer, which will do the same thing for applications. Great app but I'd like to have the same concept for contacts.

I looked for a similar app and never found one.

What I did was created a folder on my home screen and renamed it then used Anycut app to make direct dial links to the contacts I wanted and dropped them in the folder. Now when I click the folder the shortcuts are all together with their contacts pic and will direct dial with one press.

The only thing it won't do is auto close. Hope this helps you.

I haven't tried it myself but look into Contacts! Widget - it might be sort of what your looking for.

speed dial has a couple of widgets. looks like a dial pad. when you hit it, it opens up to a 3x3 dialpad where you can assign contacts. you can also add a wallpaper to that popped up screen.

it's free

there is also an arrow you can assign that then takes you to another page, 'deeper' in. Almost like a subfolder where you get 9 more spots to assign. Theoretically, you could go infinitely deep in there....

fill in a number of your side girlfriend, assign it to a gmail account you don't show in your regular contact list, then bury a quick dial link to her some 10 pages into the "Speedail app" and you'll be set
