Why you won't exchange your Inc to get an X

My reasons not to get the X are updated:

1. For some reason, the X display does not look as good as the Moto Droid's. Where the Moto Droid looked crisp, the X display looks over-sharp and actually makes text look weaker than on the Incredible's display. This surprised me, since expected opposite. Same text on same web pages looks more jagged on the X.

2. I like the ability to hot swap microsd cards. Inc is one of the few that allows this.

3. X is a tad too big for me, since it is more awkward for one hand operation

4. I like the memory allocation of the Inc, since it gives me 6.6gb more media memory. The X has all allocated for apps.

5. The Inc is more than fine to bridge for the dual core, LTE devices shipping next year. Most designs will allocate one core to media & graphics and the other to cpu operations. THAT will be the time to jump ship :)

Still, either device has good points. Perhaps a wash for me.

the biggest problem with android is that there is a new phone that comes out every month which is better then the last phone, i personally love my Inc, and dont see anything out there that i would like to trade it for, but samsung looks nice, but then again every new phone that comes out has some better features then its predecessor. The biggest gripes that people have with Inc is the battery life so i got a seidio batter to fix that, plus with all the mods and roms that are there all phones become pretty much the same, so it really comes down to your personal preference of how the phone itself looks and feels.

just my 2 cents...

it is hilarious the guys commenting on size of X being to big. like the Dinc fits in your pocket and the X is like a cereal box and just will not fit in your front pocket. Do you understand the difference in the size that a pocket would have to be to fit the incredible and not the X. just funny to me.

Anyway, I love my Dinc. absolutely love it. best smart phone ive ever owned and i have owned pretty much everything verizon has offered in past 10 years. BUT, i definitely have a case of wanting the latest and greatest, so...
i will be getting the X. my reasons:

1. bigger, brighter screen
2. theoretically better performing processor
3. HDMI out
4. magnetic dock activation for car and home (loved it on my droid)
5. build quality on my Dinc is superb, however my droid was also top notch if not slightly better
6. i have no problem with capacitive (or capacitor like the OP posted. lol) touch buttons but like a hard button better
7. because i can and its my money to spend as idiotically as i want.

i will miss Sense. i think sense is phenomenal. i havnt ever used it as far as friend and social integration because i dont use that crap. but everything else it provides is fluid and nice. i dont think i will like blur from what ive seen, but i really think i will root as soon as available and look forward to straight froyo 2.2.

The X will fit in your pocket but the question is will it fit comfortably or feel like a brick. I think the Inc is the perfect size. I love the idea of the bigger screen on the X when using the phone but it won't be as comfortable carrying it around, it is a BIG phone.

I still haven't decided which way to go, I am due for an upgrade the same day the X comes out and it looks like the Inc may not even be available at that time.

Incredible- 4.63 (H), 2.3 (W), .47 (D), 4.59 Oz
Droid X- 5.02 (H), 2.58 (W), .39 (D), 5.47 Oz

.39" wider, .28" taller, .08 thinner, .88 Oz heavier.

are you guys kidding me. do you understand those dimensions? anybody who says they are not buying the phone because of size is ridiculous. and i dont want to be viewed as an instigator because im not, i absolutely love my inc. the x is just not that much bigger.

The X seems much larger however I was fortunate enough to get to check out a demo model yesterday at a Verizon store and it doesn't feel as big as it looks and it fit comfortably in my pocket.

I think this article disagrees and they've actually seen all the screens in action. It's pretty clear to me that they think the droid x has the better screen. In fact, aside from contrast ratio (which is light years better on the incredible), the incredible came in dead last in every category.

I'm not saying the incredible doesn't have its advantages, but a better screen doesn't seem to be one of them.

The screen is one of the main reasons I got the Incredible. The blackest blacks hands down. I'll be keeping this, and am pretty sure when its upgrade time, I'll be shopping for another amoled device. And yes, I've had it next to all the competition.

Maybe go for Super Amoled with the next phone, they should be better than Amoled. Hopefully the sharpness is addressed. Check out these pics here: http://androidforums.com/htc-incredible/113493-iphone-4-vs-htc-incredible-2.html#post1006481

Look at the Avater pics. Especially the last Avatar pic, that says it all. The first one wasnt too bad.. I think thats what reviewers, tests mean by over saturated vs. accurate colors. But, it is all preference when it comes to these phones. Especially the screens.

I agree. It all comes down to personal preference. And I'll admit, iPhone 4 was the handset I spent the least time with. And certainly not under a magnifier. Lol. Besides, the iPhone seemed like the app drawer was stuck open. Couldn't get to a home screen for the life of me.
