Udate is there people

under about phone, my phone has

build number: r1fa014

I updated from R1FA014 to R1FA016 in April but by using the PC Companion or Update Service software. Have you tried all three ways of updating ? (PC Companion, Update Service software, and the Update Software option in your phone?)

Here are a few thoughts:

1. Maybe in firmware version R1FA014 the option for "Update Software" is either not there, or it's in a difference place. Look around everywhere in your settings.

2. Maybe you can try to uninstall and re-install the PC Companion and Sony Update Service software on your PC? Even or me, For some reason, this software was just saying "you have to latest software".

i'm in the Uk with an unbranded X10i running R2BA020 which I downloaded over the air a week ago, when did 23 come out? mine is saying i have the latest software on both the handset and SEUS
Mine does too. I think, for the UK at least, you need to root the phone to get it :(. I'm still not sure what the benefits of rooting it are lol. And I dont make a lot of calls so, higher call volume doesn't really matter that much to me.

I have same setting as previous poster R1FA014. I'm on branded 3 phone in ireland and it says i'm running latest version when updating from phone. From PC Companion it says "your phone is up to date"

Hope this doesn't mean we'll be last for 2.x in Q3/4

The big difference I have noticed between the firmware is the in-call volume on 023 is far superior, that's why I decided to root to get the update.

it is encouraging to hear that your in-call volume on 023 is far superior. Can anyone else on confirm that their in-call volume is better as well? (not doubting you, but would feel more encouraged if a few people say the same).

Cheers;)

For me the reason to root was to get the 023 update but it also has the benefit of getting rid of unwanted apps that are uninstallable otherwise such as Moxier, PlayNow, Track ID and the original launcher (now replaced with ADW).

No offence taken mate, I personally found the in-call volume on 020 update very muffled so after updating to 023 I find it a lot better. It's still not what you should expecting from a device designed to make phone calls but it's best for me so far.

That's my thread on XDA contributed by users. Please remove it as it is outdated and replace with the link: Update by country - xda-developers

No worries mate. As I said a friend sent it to me. I think he got it from the Whirlpool forum so your post was doin the rounds.

I don't know how to remove, but your post links to the updated info. So thanks for that.

Cheers.

Just updated mine to R2BA023. Im on T mobile in the UK. Couldn't do it through normal software update. Had to use PC comp and Repair original then it updated.
I was thinking of doing that to see if it works... Im on o2 uk, Who still havent released the update.

Did you loose all your information on your phone. Eg: Apps, Messages etc??

Thanks in advance

Well having been feeling mighty peeved that I couldn't get the update OTA or on PC companion I have just had another read through this thread. Gave the Sony Ericsson Update Service a go and it said there was an upgrade available. Gave me a choice of leaving settings or doing a Factory Reset. Decided on leave settings option but don't know whether this was the right choice/what difference it makes other than having to reinstall some stuff?

Just run it and the phone is booting itself back up as I type.

I have R2BA023!!! Hurrah. Initial thought... swipe unlock was fast and zoomed down to 'Settings' in the app drawer.

I'll carry on playing and see how it goes.

How does that work then?!?!?! I am still 'branded' tho so may be thats it?

I had initially read about doing the repair thing but thought I'd give the update service one last go.

Model X10i
Firmware Version 1.6
My baseband version is 1.1.27
Kernel version 2.6.29-rel semc-android@SEMC #2
Build number R2BA023

Sony being its 'quirky' best maybe? Whats different on your phone?
