Thank you so much that is what I was forgetting to do! I did the factory reset and got my ShapeWriter back but could not get it to work! You are awesome I am so freaking happy now! You made my day!

ya I tried it out for a day and there is no way I type faster with swype than with a normal keyboard in landscape mode

now I just need a new version of the Droid X keyboard or maybe just to reinstall it

bigger keys, multitouch support, and it gets rid of the useless arrows that are included in the stock Evo keyboard

If you swype for a week and then do a controlled test where you compare your swype speed with your traditional peck speed, I guarantee you swype will win. Like anything else, it requires some time to pick up the skill.

For the longest time, I would pause after each word to see it appear correctly. now i just swype my thought regardless of what suggestions pop up. then i go back to fix if necessary, which these days is rarely.

Same with me aeiou, I was like "Mehh" at first, now I couldn't live without it. I liked "SLIDEIT" as well but why pay for it when Swype is free and a touch better?

it just isn't for me. I like holding my phone in landscape mode, I hate typing or swyping with the small keyboard and my hands are small so I hate holding the phone with 1 hand and trying to slide my finger across it - constantly feel like I'm going to drop it

I could probably type 60 words a minute with the droid x keyboard and see no reason to change what works for me

I'm sure I could get used to it, but I feel no need to as it feels so awkward and only works in a layout that I prefer not to use to type or view web pages or messages
