My thermoplastic polyurethane case came today. Assuming it's what the epic cases are like. Wasn't digging the argyle thing. I got the

smoke one on ebay for $8. Looks just like it does in their pics. Like it better than the Innocase II. For some reason it does feel a touch thinner than it as well. It's grippy and smooth at the same time and is much firmer than a silicone type case. The buttons are covered and they click no problem. The camera is slightly recessed, and there is plenty of space for the ports, speaker and so on. If you need that little extra coverage the snap on rear case doesn't provide. It's a good choice.

The current offerings by Seidio and Sprint are low quality and way too expensive. However, this device must be protected, NOW. Buy what you want for now, but the BEST cases are made by Otterbox and Case Mate. Check out the offerings that these companies make for the Nexus One and iPhone and you will agree. The Otterbox Commuter ($35) is the best case that I ever owned when I had an iPhone 3GS, and the Case Mate Tough Case ($30) was the BEST case I had seen for the Nexus One. Both companies offer high quality, reasonably price cases for smartphones. Hopefully, these guys will release products soon for the EVO! Until then, I will SETTLE for something else.

Hey guys,
The case-mate Tough Case is now in stock. I just ordered one over the phone. The images havent been loaded to the website yet but they are shipping. Case Mate Tough Case for Evo 4G

I had gotten a plastic two-piece snap-together case while I was waiting for the Otterbox Commuter to be available, but last weekend I dropped "my precious" on pavement getting out of the car. On the first bounce, the case protected but opened up and came off. Before I could grab the phone in midair it landed naked and the glass cracked. It still works fine, but before I get the glass fixed I need a better case than the cheap one I had. So the Tough Case couldnt have come at a better time. Hopefully its as good as people say. :)

Finally received my anxiously anticipated Case-Mate Tough Case today. Really wanted an Otter-Box, oh well, they took way to long to release theirs. So far so good with this case though. My wifes old gel case let the phone slip out of it after a month of use, which is bad, and my old hard Platinum case from Best Buy ($35 waste-of-case) scratched the edges of my phone. Replaced my phone, couldn't bring myself to use old case. Glad Case-Mate came out with this one. Good combination of a soft gel on the inside, with a good hard shell protecting corners, edges and back, while at the same time doing a good job of keeping the gel case on. Only downfall I see at this time is that I wish the gel case pulled just a little snugger around edges of face of phone, I believe that may be a possible entry point for dirt and debris. The case is a little thicker than my old case, so I can no longer use my holster. However, I knew it would be, so no big deal, it would be nice if case-mate created a holster for their case now though, just an idea, I would buy it. ~~~~ I left about this same message on the case mate review board, I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. This case is still a 100% improvement over the Platinum / Seido cases imho. No case should scratch your phone in the name of protecting it , and mine did serious paint removal on the edges of the phone after about a month of use. If for any reasons after use with this case I have any complaints, I will post again. However, so far, I like what I see with the case-mate. Thanks for the read, hope it helps you.

Not every Seidio case scratches. That seems to be a faulty case that is easily exchanged for free if you contact Seidio for a replacement. Quite the small sample size to judge every single Seidio case imo.

Yes, it does cover the power and volume buttons. I am impressed with how easy they are to still operate though, it has not taken away from the case at all, and adds nice protection.

As far as not every seido/platinum case scratching up the edges of the evo, yes I know some people have had good experiences, however, my case, on my evo, was a bad experience. And I did replace it and try a new one actually, only to have it loosen up around the edges enough in a few weeks to make me take it off the phone for fear that it would just wreck my phone some more. Added to that, it was a hassle at best buy as the sale clerk said he had never heard of such a problem, and since he works there he was under the opinion that he would know, and I wouldn't. He wanted proof. Needless to say, a manager was then involved, and I showed the manager postings from this forum from people that experienced the same problem, and postings on their own best buy forum. If that case is working good for you, great, I was just posting as a warning, and to give people the opportunity to keep an eye out for issues if they get one. Now, I am rather rough on my phone, I work for a utility company, and am always on the go, so maybe the extra abuse had something to do with the wear out of the seido/platinum cases, its still a $35 case though, and should have taken all that I had to throw at it. I am glad that it fits your needs, however it didn't fit mine, and a lot of other people from all that I have researched.
