Can someone recommend a good media player?

I swear I can't find a decent media player that works on 2.2. I don't care for the stock player that much. I want a player that just monitors one folder on my SD card that I can designate. I tried MixZing, but it does this stupid thing where it monitors what I play and tries to play similar stuff from my library. I skip a song and I end up seeing the same song I heard 3 songs ago. It's frustrating. I don't want that feature. Any suggestions on what media play will work best for me? I had bTunes, but it's buggy on 2.2 and it would seem that the developer has no plans to update the app any time soon.

You can turn that feature off called "Give Recommendations" under settings. It's not as stupid some may think it is;).

I'm not aware of any app that does this off the top of my head and the people replying seem to be ignoring this part of your post.

3 is great IMO and it's what I use but you can't specify a music folder. Most apps that I've tried will automatically scan the SD card.

Btunes does. It's one of the things I like about it. I like to keep things nice and clean (I'm anal that way) so I've got my podcasts all in one folder and music in another. I want to be able to fire up one app that has access to all my music and only my music and another that has my podcasts and just my podcasts. Yes, it's weird, but we all have our idiosyncrasies.

Unfortunately on Froyo, Btunes doesn't do this well any more. For some reason, it just scans inside the very first folder and only goes under there one folder deep. I've got my media organized Media folder >> Artist >> Album. Now on Froyo, I only get the first album on my phone. It would seem there are no plans to update this app to fix this.

I'll test out the apps everyone's recommended tonight when I get home and see how I like them.

I tried them out and I have to say that I'm not really happy with any of them completely. Here's what I found with the following players

TuneWiki - I love the way the lyrics show up. I don't like the ads and I don't like how I have to create an account with Tunewiki in order to upgrade to the ad free version. I generally like the interface though, but it has no lockscreen widget.
Cubed - The interface seems to only let me browse my music by album and not by genre, artist, etc..... There's also no lock screen widget.
Mixzing - Has a lockscreen widget, but no home screen widget. $6.99 price tag seems really steep for something that has no home screen widget.
Astro player - Don't care for the visual interface at all. Navigation doesn't work the way I like. I can pick artists, then pick albums, but can't pick any songs under the album. I have to play the entire album. Has no lock screen widget.
Mort player - No home screen widget. I don't care for the visual interface at all. No lock screen widget.
