ICAP Protocol error

I'm having exactly the same problem but it started yesterday for me and also with Orange. Some how i can get on this forum but can't access my other favourite, my email or my Facebook.
Don't know weather its me but my 3g/gprs signal is awful in Wales where I live, it takes a while 2 access the internet on my desire.

I'm going to post on this thread, even though its a little old i had the same problem but found a satisfactory solution.

1) make sure you have either 'Astro file manager' or 'Task killer' installed on your phone (available free from market place or download the .apk setup file if you have a computer with internet access then transfer by using the funky USB cable doohickie to your phone)

2) run either of these programmes (I use Astro file manager) and use the tools option to find which programmes / services are currently running.

3) Orange dude has told me they have constant problems with facebook, so I forced stop on FB and turned my phone off and on

4) goto settings>Wireless & Networks>Access Point Names>*your provider*Internet>

you need to make sure that Authentication type is set to PaP or CHAP

once you've done this you should have access to the internet (although i'm still seeing the ICAP error on some webpages in the adverts...still viewable pages is better than nothing...teehee...)
