Not useless, just slow, very, very slow.


I run on G network whenever i visit my family in the country (Here in UK) and i get pretty frustrated with how slow that can be.

I may be wrong but I think G is faster than EDGE, but correct me if I'm wrong.

If you like the phone, by all means go for it, But you won't get the best out of it on 2G networks.

2g is a lot slower, but I personally have everything set to auto update, so whether I'm reading emails or checking Facebook, its already downloaded everything when I come to view it, so I don't notice it.

With regards to EDGE, it actually has 20 times the bandwidth of GPRS, HOWEVER its at the networks discretion whether to increase the speed by 20 times, OR allow 20 times the number of people to connect to it.

In the UK, it feels like they have only doubled the speed so they can have 10 times more people connected to it (which I guess is needed with all the constantly connected Smartphones that are being sold)
