This is inxane's port of the CM recovery to the moment, ported to the intercept & then to the acclaim. There is a zip file that you can apply from the old recovery the same way you would apply any other zip file, and a tar that you can apply the same way you applied the old recovery, for instructions, look there, I'm too lazy to copy & paste all that. This will work on 2.1 & 2.2. Under backup options, only use tar backups & restores, the other options do not work.

If you look under advanced, and filesystem conversions, you will see that you can convert your system, data, and cache partitions to ext2 & ext4. I recommend converting system to ext2 and data & cache to ext4, this should provide a big speed increase on your acclaim. This is only compatible with crapkernel on froyo so far though, if you are using any other kernel, or using 2.1, don't convert your filesystems.
