I'm not using LP, just stock Froyo FRG22D (on Moto Droid 1) and I've found that using a live wallpaper seems to have fixed my lag. Could that be? I haven't tried this for very long, but seems snappier for sure.

Root Slow home screen loading on Moto Droid! Help?

I find that very hard to believe. Not likely, if anything, it is more memory and power use, so 1 would think it could make it worse.

running stock 2.2, no downloaded launcher, not rooted.
I was experiencing a mind-numbing delay (sometimes up to 30 seconds) getting to my home screen. following advice, i removed icons from all but 3 screens. the delay vanished instantly! now i'm back to having the speedy droid i knew and loved. having fewer icons is a pain, but i'm using folders now (for games, etc), and it's well worth it.
also, moving apps from SD to phone didn't work. only removing icons did.

I have been wrestling with this slow home screen issue for a month or two. I have tried removing widgets, uninstalling apps one by one. I finally have my Droid humming along again! Get rid of the android facebook app. All is well now. I can use various apps , check my email, then click home or back and the home screen is immediate. It is nice to have my Droid back. Just use your browser and go to Welcome to Facebook | Facebook and then create a bookmark to it. It works just as fast as the problem facebook app.

It was getting so bad. 30 seconds of blank screens. I deleted the Facebook app and the problem went away. I reloaded the Facebook app and the problem came back. Deleted it again. Idahoscuba had it right.

This thread is pretty old. chudjr, there are other ways to do this. Either use the V6 supercharger script (google it) or create/edit a local.prop file in /data. I might even have a couple of 'update.zip' style files in my collection that will also do this (the local.prop method) for you.
