I was just going off what the htc rep told me last week about the phone. He did have a live unit with him but I've never seen the Shift in person, so, I didn't know how accurate that statement was.

I wasn't trying to catch you. You mentioned your name was Jason I seen the manager was listed as Joseph, I assumed it was the previous management. But you now say your manager is Drew, I could care less, If you spend enough time around these upcoming smartphone forums you will witness countless heroes that are fly by night losers that don't have a life so they drum up stories for attention or maybe just to make their buddies laugh. I don't think the phone will launch on the 14th but if someone claims that they know for certain that the phone will launch and yet have virtually nothing proving that, then it's hard to not to be suspicious.
Don't get all defensive when some calls bs when there's Still no proof. I'm not questioning weather you took ownership today, I am only questioning the Feb 14 date.

The previous owner didn't really maintain the site and that's why you saw Joseph's when in reality Drew has been the manager there for over a year now. I retained the guys he had there because they're all very good. But you could 'care less', so, why am I wasting my time.
As far as the 14th goes....I'm going off what my Diector of Purchasing told us last week while showing us the htc displays that we'll be getting to promote the phone. I know that he wouldn't just make that date up, so, someone from Verizon told him that. Hopefully it is true because I want the phone for me as well but if it's not....it certainly doesn't mean I've been bullshitting you guys about everything else I've said.

I saw something that the iphone is available to current customers starting tomorrow , hopefully they'll do something like that with the thunderbolt. I'm ordering an Iphone4 for my old man tomorrow

Yeah I'm only getting him it because I don't want to teach him soemthing new haha ... He had an Itouch I got him fof fathersday a couple years ago but it died on him and he hates his BB Curve . So why not kill two birds with one stone and he already knows the OS so it will be an easy transition for him , that doesn't make me be a teacher lol

LOL...I agree, hate playing teacher! My dad has the Incredible now, and hates the battery life! He was liking the idea of the Thunder, but really likes the Amoled on his Incredible, and likes the size. So since he's used to Mac, and already really likes my brothers i4 on at&t, I guess its a good idea since the screen is real good, and battery life is pretty solid. I like Android to much to even entertain the idea.

Yeah I could never do an iphone again . I think they're great smartphones but I just find them a little boring . The notification bar and widgets are just things I couldn't live without .
But one thing I'll give the iphone is that it doesn't take any tinkering for it to work to full potential it just comes out of the box easy to use and working properly. It seems like if you want an Android device to last 12-18hrs on one charge you have to tinker with setting a bit , I've got my Incredible pulling a solid 20hrs and up to 30hrs with out even a thought but I remember when I first got it only getting 8-12hrs

I'm jealous of all you guys/gals who will be able to get the TB in February; either 14th or 24th. I'm not eligible for an upgrade until the end of July. I can pay $20 to upgrade 2 months early, but I don't know how long I can stand my Storm 2.
I wish I had more options aside from paying full retail or waiting until the end of May.

Wireless authorized dealers are no better, actually just under, legitimate Verizon reps. I've worked at 3 different Authorized dealers, was eventually the manager for one, for T-mo and ATT, and we always knew less than most of the reps at the official stores. Our contacts always gave us inaccurate information because they simply did not know everything themselves and most of them do not even care that much for Authorized resellers. While I'm sure this guy did get his info from a decent source, do not count on it as 100% accurate either. I would definitely believe Engadget/BGR before believing an authorized reseller, owner or otherwise.

Root would be easy but good luck making phone calls while using data or using LTE on a custom ROM, the phone can achieve root with a simply copy/paste from a G2 essentially the same but without any other LTE phone on the market it might take a while before you see a custom ROM.

I'd bet money the 14th (Monday) is pre-order date, and 24th (Thursday) is the actual launch date. Consider that last year the Incredible's pre-order date was the 19th (Monday) and launch date was the 29th (Thursday), both ten days apart, and we know Verizon likes to launch phones on Thursdays.

perhaps vzw will get them on the 14th and be up for preorder but will not be available to customers till the 24th.
