Root TheUltimateDroid Gingerbread 3.0 Final!

2 days running this with all my apps installed (which are many).

By far the fastest rom I have used with everything loaded (many roms are fast till you start loading it up)

Very happy..probably sticking with this until I upgrade to a bionic or droid3 (maybe the new sony xperia play) in a few months.

I made a notifications folder my sdcard and put the droid sound on it and it does show up, but an hour later it magically disappears from my notifications list on my phone...i named it as an .ogg file, .mp3 file, and even a .wav file. Does anyone know whats going on?

anyone else getting more dropped calls than usual?

When you load this ROM, it completely wipes FroYo and the stock kernel. This is gingerbread - a completely different OS. A good analogy is that of wiping your hard drive, none of the old OS remains, and none of the drivers remain. I'm not sure what kernel is included, but I replaced it with a ChevyNo1 kernel.

For those having issues with Gmail not syncing...here's what I did to fix the issue.

Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > then click on the "ALL" tab

From there scroll down until you get to Gmail. Clear cache then data. After that you may have to sign back in to your gmail account (and I'd also double check that sync for gmail is still checked). But once I did this I didn't have any other issues with sending/receiving emails from my phone.

When i first loaded this rom it had a really sweet screen off/on animation where it like closed in and had a light kinda flash thing, but after messing around with it a bit and i went to show my friend the sweet animation it wasnt working anymore. I have screen off and on animation turned on but still nothing any tips?

So, I've had this rom running for ~ 24hours and decided to try my old Slayher Kernel with it. It didn't like it when i set the max to 1200, but has been stable and fast @ 1100. I've been running some quadrant benchmarks and it's smokin'. Here is my latest result, each outcome has been relatively the same as this one: (oh and the ad block script doesn't seem to be working as evidence by the ad at the bottom of quadrant)

So I decided to apply the ported NexTheme that someone posted over on DF. Unfortunately, doing that did something to my wifi. Suddenly, every time I try to turn it on, nothing happens. When I go to do it through the settings menu, all it tells me is "error." Has anyone else experienced this? I tried installing the plain UD 3.0 over top of it and the theme reverted back to original, but wifi still didn't work. Reluctantly, not knowing what else to do, I did a backup, then wiped everything. After a fresh install, the wifi still didn't work. I restored the backup just for my apps and stuff without hassle, but this has been pretty annoying. I don't know why a theme.zip would mess anything up.

Ideas? All I can think is trying to keep wiping and re-installing....

Edit: it was the kernel, evidently. It was one of Chevy's new ones, which was actually labeled as GB-friendly. Anyway, back to the old slayher deal and all is well.

Go into Spare Parts and make sure your transition animation are set to normal. That should do it, if they are set to fast it makes the transition too fast to show the animation.

Excellent, thanks man worked perfect. I had to DL spareparts cause i didnt have it on my phone so i dunno how it got changed in the first place. One more question, is there a website somewhere that has droid specific backgrounds, i have an old one and would love to get a nice high quality new one.

I definitely prefer this ROM over SS and Pete's. Better battery life and snappier with stock kernel.

The only problem I have been having is with GMail. It keeps saying "Waiting for SYNC." It doesn't always do this though and it's never happened before. I have it checked to SYNC in accounts and settings.

Probably need to wait for an update for a fix.

Did you try clearing the data from your Gmail app?

What was wrong with your LaucherPro? Mine worked fine... MY problem with UD3 was that the ^3 Cubed music player didn't find half my music. Restored to 2.5 and everything fell into place. :thinking:

It would keep losing widgets and resetting itself. Now it is working fine. I had to clear the defaults and make it the default again. For some reason it was not showing up in the list of defaults at first.

looks like I finally fixed my issues after doing another fresh install...I think it had to do with my backup with Titanium, so I was more selective with a few of my options, and everything is working great. I'm gonna load a new kernel tonight and see how she does tomorrow.

I use my phone very consistantly during the day, I download podcasts while I am asleep and listen to them during the day. I installed this rom yesterday and noticed that it would not lock the orientation even when I told it to. Google Voice didn't seem to work. My 3g broke and I had to go into airplane mode to fix it. On a typical day I will leave work and have 40% battery life left - almost always like I said, im consistant. I had 10% left today, so the battery life was not as good as any I have previously used. The animations and options were great and it was very snappy for 800 mhz, but there is still quite a bit to fix IMO.

Ya, it's really weird. I've never had it happen with any ROM before. I just loaded the latest Cyanogen build and it's doing the same thing. It's really quite annoying since I play music all the time and stream it through my car receiver. :/

Anyone have advice or anything?

I had the same issue with the auto-rotate not staying off - I first discovered that it was only doing that though on the home screen, not the apps. Then I changed my launcher to launcher pro, and now the auto-rotate works.

i saw the same thing today on only 1 out of the 10+ calls i got. when it happened i pressed the power button once to "hide/mute" the call then pressed the power button again to bring the screen back up and the answer slider was back. but i have only had that happen the one time so far.
