Root Voodoo question

HI everyone..

I recently updated my phone to DL09 modem with Dl30 rom, about 3 weeks ago when it first came out.

At first the phone seemed much faster, but now it seems very laggy at times, when just scrolling or opening up apps.

I have heard a lot about voodoo but been very scared, since I heard it is really hard to get off once you go.

Do you think it is worth it to go voodoo? Will it fix my lag issues?

I am still trying to figure out what steps i need, I was thinking of going to new one what is it Eb something?

I don't think there is Voodoo for Dl30, but if you already went to Dl30, you might as well go to EB01. EB01 by itself, has less problems than Dl30, so with EB01 without Voodoo, you should notice better performance than DL30, plus with EB01 you'll have the proper radio. If you dont like EB01 without voodoo, it's a simple flash in CWM to add voodoo. And voodoo, now, is easy to remove, and rarely causes any issues, unlike the original voodoo which caused a lot of problems even when used/removed properly.

There are plenty of 2.1 voodoo kernals http://androidforums.com/fascinate-all-things-root/235766-one-stop-shopping-fascinate-kernels.html

It's easy to install and easy to disable. The only catch is that you MUST disable a voodoo kernal before installing a non-voodoo kernal or when upgrading to a non-voodoo supported ROM. Other than that, they work the same as any other kernal.

So i went and updated the eb01 modem, and eb01 stock

i am noticing weird network issue when on wifi..keeps saying network error retry again

never had that before..anyone seen that?

I wouldn't use the eb01 stock, I would go for one of the de-bloated roms like SuperClean 2.4

I would highly recommend the EB01 superclean mentioned above. I just posted a huge discussion on why I like the Superclean 2.4 - probably wrote too much, but what are you gonna do! Just follow the directions in the link and you should be fine

hmm well it seem to go away..whatever that was..

tomorrow i will try superclean...

i think one of the reasons I did not like superclean is I do not like the app they use for sms messaging...i like the one that comes with fascinate..unless i am thinking of different rom

Adrynalyn gives you a patch to add samsung SMS/MMS back onto your phone. You just need to read further down past the links to his SuperClean packages. He gives you links to multiple patches to add several different things that were removed in SC. You simply download the file, put it on your SD card, and flash the zip in CWM after installing superclean, and it will give you samsung SMS/MMS.

awesome thanks will definitely try it out either today or next few days when i have time.
