Root To all those rooted.....

I deleted a few stock apps.
Telenav
Amazon mp3
Nascar
HTC Tutorial (which it's more like an internet shortcut)
Adobe Reader
Kindle
Quick Office
SFL

(Since I know those are safe to remove.) probably will get rid of some more later, Root Explorer works great!

I Installed Wireless Tether and works like a charm!

I haven't got the time to install recovery but will as soon as I can.
And after that just wait for the devs to come out with the good stuff Kernels Roms.

I am such a noob and I know nothing of this kinda stuff so what is wifi tethering? I want to root my phone and get rid of the stock apps I don't want. I was thinking of taking it to the sprint store and asking them to take the apps off( I want the same apps deleted as stated in the quote above.)

Is that possible, I dont want to tottaly ruin my phone because I really don't know what to do.

I'm rooted! Took me an hour cause I'm a n00b to rooting and Android.

Now on to recovery, but I don't know how to begin.

What are all the steps before the "Backup Wimax Partitions" part...
or there aren't any steps?
Do i just connect to adb and input the wimax code or...?

I hope you all can understand what I'm asking.
Please help

*Disregard... got it*

I just rooted (yay!) And have a few questions.

1. I've done a backup via recovery app, so what's the purpose of that titanium app? Is it necessary?

2. I can get rid of bloat via root explorer?

3. With wireless tether for foor users, it states that you need a rooted phone and a kernel that supports netfilter. So you have to flash a custom kernel (which I was planning on doing.. the 1.51ghz) to use the wireless tether app?

4. I also plan on using setCPU but mainly for lowering cpu when screen is off. When its on I may have it go to 1 ghz at most. Is there a significant battery drain when its overclocked to 1 ghz? Phone is already fast but I guess a lil more shouldn't hurt.

Titanium will backup your apps, so as not to have to go through and re download them all if you need to wipe when you flash a new rom. You can delete bloat with titanium backup, or root explorer.
Wireless tether worked for me with the stock kernel. I never had a problem running it. The cool thing about these different kernels is the undervolting, and the ability to control clock speeds both to gain and to throttle back with the processor. They tend to use less battery because you can scale the processor back when you aren't using it. I have mine set to run at 245mhz with the screen off (IIRC). That allows for longer battery life. Every body has a different experience, so just mess with it until you get it doing what you like. That is what makes these android phones so great. YOU have the power to do whatever you want when you root.
