Day 2 and people here at every place that sells Sprint are wanting answers...
Guess what? They DON'T KNOW....GO FIGURE.....
Love the way Sprint trains their people.

by everyplace that sells Sprint, do you mean actual Sprint stores? Or do you mean cellphone shops that have contracts with sprint to sell their phones and such?

Big difference there.

Now granted, I don't put much stock in what some Sprint Reps say, but they get their information from Sprint. The other stores that just happen to also sell Sprint stuff... good luck, they'll tell you whatever lies you want to know to sell you a phone.

to do what? take a picture of the about phone and post? rooting has nothing to do with taking a picture of the about phone screen and posting it.

Do those of us who are rooted and running a ROM want this?

No bugs that need fixing on my phone so........?

I would say no...at least, not yet. I know you're an ACS guy like me right now (until CM7 comes out, then all bets are off) and they're currently working on SRF 1.1 which will be based off the latest EC05 release.

Until then, I wouldn't update jack, ESPECIALLY if you're not experiencing any problems.

just some info. I had 2.2 from sprint a few weeks ago. battery life was a little better then it started chewing Batt up. I reset it and shut down DRM services and battery doing better.

That's what I was thinking but confirmation makes me feel better.

I too was running stock EB13 for a while, but it didn't last long. I did get better battery life, no question. However, nothing compares to loading a custom ROM paired with a kernal that is capable of overclocking/undervolting. SRF w/ Twilight does exactly this, among others out there too. I've had tremendous battery life with SRF 1.0.1 and 1.0.2. I'm expecting even better things from 1.1 which I'll bet is released in the next couple days. If you do get a notification about an update and you're already rooted, I say deal with the reminder until a workable ROM is out there for it and go with that.

The ability to really control what your phone does is out of this world awesome, and I would highly, HIGHLY suggest people doing it who are willing to take the slight risk associated with it.

My question stems off that thought.....

would it better to flash back to 2.1 and upgrade from that to EC05 instead of from EB13 to EC05 ?

I work at sprint and it doesn't matter if you have 2.1 on your phone, or eb13. This is what we were told and still do not have a manual upgrade yet. We will get one, but no information on when that will happen. Keep in mind ec05 is a fix from eb13, so it wouldn't make sense for the eb13 phones to not get the update. Especially since the new version has sprint id.
