I have my Google and Facebook accounts set to sync with my Optimus V. I have ~920 Google contacts and ~870 Facebook friends. The problem: when I enable Facebook sync, some (not all) of my contacts are duplicated. When Facebook sync is turned on, I have ~1300 contacts in my phone.
I have my contacts sorted by first name. The duplicates only appear starting with the letter A, and going partway through the letter C. One instance will contain the Google-supplied info, while the other instance will contain the Facebook photo, Facebook profile link, and Facebook-supplied contact info. Everything from mid-C and after is merged: the Facebook and Google contacts are combined and displaying normally, one per person, with all info present.
Things I tried:
* Disabled Google and Facebook sync, backed up the Google contacts to a .vcf file, deleted all contacts from the phone, then enabled first Google, then the Facebook sync, with the same problem resulting.
* Powering down, removing battery, and restarting did not change anything.
I cannot stomach the idea of having to manually merge hundreds of contacts. Can you help me find a way to resolve this issue? Thank you!
