Help phone stopped 4G service suddenly. why?

My phone was doing the same thing, I am in the DC area as well. I turned off my phone, removed the battery, slide out the 4G Sim tray, let it stay out for 30 seconds, push the 4G Sim Tray back in, and then reboot. This is what solved my problem.

I just tried the same thing, no luck... I still have 1X with full bars. I'm in the DC area, specifically Rosslyn.

On the positive side, I probably won't have to keep my phone plugged in all day!

Hmm, well I am in Millersville, Maryland, about 30 or so minutes outside of D.C. I had full 4G this morning, and suddenly it cut out. Does anyone know what is going on? Maybe VZW tried to push an update that accidentally fried our SIM? Or is it just work being done on the network? My 4G was iffy last night and then this morning, about 20 minutes ago completely shut down. I can't even get 1X anymore. I'm on my work computer typing this out. I was thinking about taking the phone back but now after reading everyone elses problems, I'm leaning more towards the network either getting overloaded, or a bad update that screwed up the SIM cards, after all, they are touchy. Does anyone work for Verizon or have someone that works for them that can verify what's going on? I don't want to call 611 for something that might be just something that will get better with time.

Same here in OKC. Me and a friend who both have TBolts have been having weirdness.

I don't get 4G in my office building, but was in 4G all morning then when I got to my desk, I realized that instead of full 3G like I normally get in here, I was getting 1x. Rebooted, same thing. Forced to 3G auto, and got my 3G back. Then switched back to LTE, and am sitting at full 3G like I normally would be.

You can not rely on the upload speed if your using speedtest.net or the app. There is an issue with how the site or app reads the TBolt info so up speeds are screwed up. Downloads seem to be pretty close to what they are supposed to be but for uploads, just cut the number in half for now and that would be a better reflection of the upload...

Speedtest is aware and are working on updating the site and app. 4G seems to have just come back in downtowwn manhattan as well...

I did this and I have 3G back which is good, but I should have 4G, so not so good . I'll keep an eye on it and see if it jumps back to 4G.

I was running on the 4G network until about 30 minutes ago when it started going weird here in Central Jersey (under the Philly umbrella). At least now it's on a stable 1X connection instead of dropping off completely.

Like it's been mentioned, it looks like this is a Thunderbolt only issue. I just asked two friends in the same building as me and on their Droid X and Incredible they're still on the 3G network.

Still on the phone with Verizon. I was escallated to a "4G specialist" which just received an email that they need to collect data on any calls about 4G outages.

I just reset my phone, for a second time, since the nice Verizon support guy asked me to and sure enough I got my 4G back.

If they got an email to collect data about 4G outages then VZW is definetly aware of the problem. I would suggest that everyone that is having this issue call VZW, if they are collecting data it means they are trying to see how widespread it is.
