Help Icons changing

Is anyone experiencing their icons changing to the Droid logo guy? All of my icons in folders like Angry Birds, etc start out ok but eventually change to the little Droid guy. :thinking:

That means the widget is having problems loading. Did you unmount (remove from PC too quickly) incorrectly by any chance?

No, it's never been connect to my pc or Mac. The icons are fine in the main app tray and when I drag them to a folder they look normal but over time they end up changing to the droid logo. If I tap on them they open up and function fine. It's just a pain when you open up a folder with several apps and they all look the same.

Have they been moved to the SD card? If so, maybe your SD card is getting unmounted somehow and then it cant find the logo

Both of my Angry Birds icons went to stock Android in my Games folder. All other game icons stayed normal. Tried deleting the folder and reapplying the icons with the same result. The apps seem to work OK tho.

I think you're right. I moved one of the Angry Birds versions from the SD card back to the phone and rebooted it and the icon is back to normal. Now the question is why it's doing this.

However, all of my games are on the SD card and all the icons seem to be doing fine inside the folder. But since it happened to 2 different people means it's not just a freak accident. Are you rooted? Running a custom ROM?

No, I'm completely stock. I've only had this phone since the 25th.

My Inc used to give me the "SD card unexpectantly removed" a good bit. But I never figured out why it was doing it. Not sure if it's related though.

I wonder if this will be an issue down the road and if I should just move the apps back to the phone and and see what happens...

I have had this happen a couple of times, but only when just booting up the phone or after disconnecting it from my PC. They all come back within a minute when the SD card loads back up fully, though, and obviously only affects apps I've moved to the card.

I spoke with Verizon and they sent me over to HTC. I got started with them but will finish with them tomorrow because I had to go coach my baseball team.

update to original post: After speaking with HTC this morning the tech was able to replicate my problem on his Bolt too. On his phone he had the fast boot box checked and it was ok but if he left the box unchecked his icons changed to the droid logo. They will hopefully have this fixed in the next update this quarter. The only problem is that on my phone it doesn't matter if fast boot is checked or not, the icons still change. I'm wondering if I could have a defective sd card too.

The same thing happened to me (and my desire s): icons change into stock android ones, and moving the app to the phone memory doesn't solve the problem. When I delete them from the folder and make new shortcuts from the program menu (where they appear as they should), everything works again. It happened two times in the 4 days that I'm using my phone. Strange.

I had this happening.. the programs still work just fine but its just annoying... I made a games home screen and it hasn't happened since... for some reason the sdcard doesn't seem to be updating the icons in a folder, but for me it was 6 programs and since all 3 angry birds just say angry birds under the icon I can't tell which one I am opening without the proper icon

Just as a thought until htc can put out a fix, I use circle launcher and love it better than any folder. I have the paid full version so I make my own icons for it.
