Today my htc thunderbolt coming. I been using a samsung fascinate for quite some time. I'm so use to swype keyboard and I don't think the thunderbolt is equipped with this keyboard. Any possible way to get swype?

Just sign up for the beta testing. They are accepting new registrations and dont take long to send you an email to download it. Swype | Text Input for Screens

I just downloaded it. It appears that there is some sort of a problem with auto space on SMS. It does not work due to some sort of coding issue with HTC. Apparently it works if you use another text program but not with the stock SMS. Bummer

Yeah that is a know issue. I was a hardcore swype user with my moto phones but I like the HTC stock keyboard more and more with the TB, most my typing is with the SMS app and I couldn't get used to having to space with swype.

Do a search. There was another thread about this where a user had a link to download the evo version of swype which works fine but has no voice feature. In fact I'm using it right now on my bolt and it spices just fine.

auto space feature isn't working this is correct. oh well it's still a badassed keyboard. Can't expect the phone to do everything for ya I guess. Next you will want it to track you where ever you go to hold your hand, and always tin foil hats for the occasion.

Swype works just fine. Not sure what issues people are having with auto spacing. Just google swype.apk. Been using it since release day.

Auto space works fine on this app and in email in sms you will note that there is a little red circle on the space bar and auto space is disabled I'm using it right now with no problem other than the fact that I'm slow at it I've never used it before and I can't seem to find the letters I assume it gets easier

What version of swype are you (and everyone else on this thread it seems) using? I'm running version 1.60.36.8214 wvga. I'm not seeing the auto space issue at all.

I think its 2 21 71 20201.t100 I loaded it today also I went to the swype web site and there was a thread on that issue the mod said they were aware of this issue with tb sms and its an htc issue

This is the nicest keyboard, has great speech to text conversion, but it also has a swype keyboard built in!
It also comes with a tap type keyboard, as well as allowing you to draw your letters!
Really great keyboard, and if what you like is swype, well... give it a try!
(I haven't used Swype for a while, so I'll have to let others speak up and say if this swype keyboard is better, worse or the same as the original)

I wish that they would fix that.. I don't love GO SMS.. I rather like the stock text program and I think that with a little time swype would be killer fast for me.

I haven't read the whole thread yet, so not certain if anyone has replied to this yet.
After the thunderbolt reboots for any reason, you have to open up the swype installer, tap "generate license"...it will tell you the license isn't proper and to diable swype. follow the on screen commands to re-generate the license and restore swype. it's a known issue with the way the beta testing license is generated.
yes, it's a PITA.
especially when your thunderbolt is rebooting itself several times a day since the OTA.

oh wow! thanks for mentioning this! i just downloaded it and after playing around for only 30 minutes are so, i think i like it better than swype. I'll have to see how cluttered the user dictionary gets after several days/weeks of use.
