I hate it for 3 reasons. 1)laggy keyboard makes texting impossible. 3rd party keyboards are laggy too. 2) Messaging widget is horrible. You have to push 'More' to scroll? 3) Brightness increases slightly after screen transition-doesn't happen on all phones but it does on mine and my bosses. Here is a video of it-it's not good as my camera doesn't do good with light changes. YouTube - ‪Droid X GB Glitch‬‏

Back to froyo.

Have you tried a data wipe/factory reset? Tried an SBF back to Froyo and installing GB again the long way?...

The keyboard issue has been reported to not be an issue on all phones....your brightness issue (which based on your video honestly seems like you're just looking to find something wrong with the phone) same thing...

So obviously those are little bugs happening with your phone ns could likely be fixed with a fresh install...

As for the widget...have you tried something like launcherpro's widgets?...

Id like to see a video of you trying to text a message so I can see just how laggy your keyboard is...

Battery life seems about the same. Initially it was horrible but I had Lookout installed and heard it hammers your battery. I uninstalled it and installed Juice Defender. Since I did those things simultaneously I really can't say which did the trick or if the phone just took a few days to settle in.

I did a wipe after upgrading and everything has been going pretty smooth. I do hate the stupidly bright button LEDs.

The only think I wish is the GB OTA would get root. I know I can SBF to a rooted leak, but I really hate starting over and reinstalling everything. Some don't find it a big deal but I think it's a major pain in the ass.

Voted thumbs down with 'issues but at least the phone rings'. I like most everything with the GB update. The camera bug doesn't bother me too much because I don't use the camera that frequently, as I never thought the X took very good pictures.

My only real complaint that bugs me every single day is the bluetooth not working anymore. It seems from some research that if you own a Nissan/Infiniti with built in bluetooth, then you are SOL. Also, it looks like at least some Acura/Hondas and Mitsubishis may be affected (those are the other cars I've read some complaints about anyway). I'm holding out for an update, but if one doesn't come in the next couple of months I'll be learning how to SBF back to Froyo.

I actually like Gingerbread a lot and see it as an improvement. I'm not seeing all the issues others are. My battery life is IMPROVED (got 45 hours on extended battery last time, while it used to be 25-30 hours). No laggy keyboard at all - I use SwiftKey so not sure if that affects anything. Things also seem to run SMOOTHER and I generally like the new colors/affects (running LauncherPro).

There are some small issues I've had though (anybody know how to fix these?):

1.) Low resolutions photo when on a call - seriously? The picture quality of the person I'm on the phone with during the call is TERRIBLE. They were clear before GB, but now they're blurry. This is completely ridiculous and not sure why they'd change the compression of this. It's almost hard to see the person's face at all.
2.) Blinking LED for notification not always working - the LED usually works when an e-mail, text, etc. first comes in, but as I soon as I do ANYTHING (turn on screen, unlock screen, etc.) it turns off. Previously, the LED blink would continue with the color I designated until the notification was cleared from the status bar. I greatly preferred that way. And sometimes I don't get a blinking LED or notification at all....not sure why.
3.) Super bright hard buttons backlit - these are way too bright. No way to dim them; I'm not rooted so can't turn them completely off.
4.) Contacts not defaulting to last viewed (Favorites) - previously, on Froyo if I viewed my Favorites and then pressed back or closed out of my contacts, the next time I went to Contacts if would open favorites, which is basically always what I view. Now, it defaults to All contacts and there's no way to change it that I know of.
5.) Phone number in dialer - selecting a phone number in gmail SHOULD put all the digits in the dialer, but it simply takes me to the dialer with no numbers entered. I have to remember 10 digits? Brutal...
6.) Vlingo crash - probably a specific app issue, but when I open Handcent or some other apps sometimes I get a Vlingo has crashed error. Weird...I guess I should uninstall Vlingo; it's not even when I'm using it though, which is the oddest part.
7.) Seems like there's a longer lag to receive e-mails. Maybe this is just imagination on my end, but I'm not receiving e-mails immediately and before I pretty much always did...

Overall, I like it but if any of you have input on 1, 2, 4, and 5 above, it would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm definitely getting 40-50% better battery life, which is terrific, and makes the decision to move to GB right for me. The phone seems just a hair more responsive.

I was annoyed that all the apps I'd installed on my SD card had their shortcuts deleted by GB. It's a minor annoyance. I moved them back on my phone, and now the shortcuts stay in place after every sync with my PC.

I had high hopes for GB, but I still can't copy and paste on my modern DX like I could with my ancient Palm over 10 years ago...

For me, it borderlines on "this really sucks".

* Sometimes my phone can't make calls. When I dial someone, the phone immediately disconnects.
* Sometimes the 3G Radio doesn't turn on when leaving WiFi - I have to power-cycle the phone.
* Battery life sometimes has issues. I think the GPS is sticking on, or something else is going wrong.

I am having other app issues as well, but those core functionality issues are pretty bad.

I have no issues. but I will say this.

after about 2 days, I battery pulled and rebooted. and I honestly think it works better.

the laggy keyboard complaint, at first I thought it was just some people. I see it happen from time to time. usually after I try to fix a word with the cursor.

Also, Handcent > messaging by a far cry.

I really liked it at first, especially the first leak, but recently my phone has been freezing and lagging like a mofo. I just did a fresh re-install of the newest deodexed GB and wiped data & cache and am already getting freeze ups. Seems to be mostly in uploading and viewing pics in the gallery and text messaging.
