Thanks.

Is there any way to re-install the international version of Android system for the Chinese Samsung Galaxy ACE trash?
Not only for the missing market issue, after Skype privacy breach Im very worried about security in preinstalled chinese software.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bye

possible solution (got the CSC changed on mine with it, market is still an issue though, need to solve that one still, maybe one of you can figure it out and let me know)

1. you need your phone rooted (superoneclick 1.7 works)
2. get Titanium Backup and back up all your files
3. save your contacts or use titanium backup to back them up
4. get root explorer
5. follow these steps: http://www.emoiz.com/how-to-change-restore-your-csc-on-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000

Remarks: the link allows you to add CSC's to your phone, installs them and with it hard resets your phone

EDIT: i GUESS the problem i face with still not being able to access market is that even though the CSC was changed, the PDA n PHONE files have not been adjusted to the new CSC and therefore market doesnt start...
check by dialing *#1234#
got now:
PDA: I9003ZCKA7
PHONE: I9003ZCKA7
CSC: I9000ZSJH1

do these have to be the same to make market usable? if so... where can i find fitting files and how to change them/add them to my phone?

or is it probably enough to just copy and paste the market app in the CSC app folder to have it preinstalled?

can any1 confirm that please?

EDIT: can't get market to run with this method, no matter what
suggesting to load/flash new firmware instead

speak: root the phone, back up your data, load new firmware, update firmware using Kies, root your phone again since new firmware means hard reset and restore backed up files

I firmly think it is not our responsibility that we don't have the android market. The fault stems from the providers/distributors of such a device. For me, if I could not install the android market, I would come back to the place I purchased from. I know the costumers care is really bad, but as a consumer I have every right to claim!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S doing rooting will void your warranty.

You can try downloading appbrain by pc and installing it on the phone.
Go to AppBrain App Market.apk - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

if it doesnt work you can still get apps by searching them in google

for example:

angry birds .apk

I've tried to install appbrain in my Galaxy S but when running the app the phone is getting hanged and being force close...and later got the message that it's very old version of app brain and for newer version check at android market...we have to rely on market for anything...this is Insane..

I was thinking to follow the same procedure what you have done but now am scared to do it as you have stated that network is gone. However I have Froyo 2.2 so i too have to follow the same instruction what you have mentioned for your eclair...

Salam everyone Again!!!

I have just found it out how to download the ANDROID MARKET without wrecking a havoc whether using *#272*HHMM" or "#272*IMEInumber" Besides you are risking with losing the connection of your SIM Card or losing your personal data & files.. and God knows what else.

All you need is to download the ANDROID MARKET (it's a genuine version as they said) in your PC from this link:

Market 1.665.apk - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

then send it via bluetooth into your Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. It is a piece of cake. I tried it and it turned out to success !!!!

It is a sure-fire way to download the market without frustration. It is a free-stress way!

Best Regards,

Khuluod

This worked like a charm.. I also tested this on my SGS 2.2 in KSA and its working..

Technically it seems like the market app is blocked according to the region the handset is being sold.

but thanks anyways..

I bought mine with Eclair 2.1 and though it had the market icon, I could not download any app because I kept getting the message that "no registered Android phone for this account". After upgrading to Foyo 2.2 via KIES Market become normal and I have since been able to download both free and bought content.

Disclaimer: My 2 cent opinion; Most of those with this issue in this post, seem to be centered around Middle East, but I am in a different region so their issue could be related to their region or the distributing Carriers and my solution may not work there

First of all you're in the wrong forum...

The Galaxy Mini S5570 forum is over here ----->> Samsung Galaxy Mini (S5570) - Android Forums

That should have information specific to your phone.

I don't think Saudi Arabia has actually 'banned' the market, more of Google's decision to only have the market in certain countries. Google doesn't operate the Market here in the PRC. No phones in mainland China come with the Market. I have the Market on my phone, because I bought it in the UK.
