6/21 Maintenance Update thread. Rolling out now.

Netflix has to be fixed by Netflix... HTC or Sprint can't do anything about that... The problems that you had with the phone after the first update, have they been resolved?

Are you quoting a post that was deleted?

It's possible HTC did something with their GB/Sense "merger" that makes it impossible to play Netflix, no matter what Netflix does.

The release notes say it WILL fix the Netflix issue.

Iv only seen one guy who claimed to have received the update!? And he was posting from Cleveland Ohio I live in Erie pa about an hour from there and I still can't get this update to bring netflix back and fix our stale ginger!?!?!? Anyone else!?!?

Pretty sure that guy said he made a mistake and had actually just installed the first gingerbread update that most of us already have.

In one of the original info posted about this update, it's introduced on the 20th but gets physically rolled to the OTA servers by the 21st.

I interpret that as there are a lot of servers for it to be sent to so don't expect it @ the drop of the flag.

So that sounds like it won't roll around to us till tomorrow? Why didn't they push it out on the 19th so that it actually is available on the 20th????

good question...although in the last update they said they would be releasing it on the 3rd in the memo and it was released on the day they said it would so im a lil confused at to why this smaller update would take so much longer to send through their servers as to cause it to be delayed by a day?

Voice to text (which I used a lot) is not working!!! WTF?!?!? I have the Sprint HTC Evo. I had planned on getting the Evo 3D Friday, but if it's going to have all these issues that the present Evo have with the gingerbread upgrade, then forget it!! Somebody at Google had better bake a fresh batch and FAST because this one was stale on delivery.

This has less to do with Google dropping the ball and more to do with HTC (handset manufacturer) and Sprint (carrier). They are the ones who add their own software and hardware fixes to make the overall OS compatible with the device and network.
Keep in mind that the 3D is also a completely different device then the 4G. So its doubtfull it will have the same issues.

Someone should call Sprint and see if they have any sensable answer when the update will release.
Had to take the wifes Shift in to the Sprint Store this afternoon. The person I talked to, said the update had been pulled from the servers. No explenation givin to him, or me. Not the Shift update, the EVO 4G update. Want my flawless EVO back!

I think this qualifies as next time. So how long are you going to wait before applying this update?

I think this can more properly be labeled a "fix" rather than an update. Sprint and HTC are trying to repair the damage they did by rolling out a half-baked update to the Evo. The few improvements were not worth the damage that was inflicted.

We have a championship in DALLAS.. Sorry theres nothing in Miami.. heheh ok sorry couldnt resist.

Thanks for rubbing it in bro. I'm still depressed..;(

Well, technically, Miami had a championship before Dallas, so prior to this year, Miami could've said the same thing...LOL. It's just the new version of the Heat don't have anything. You can see based on my avatar that I'm used to always having something...LOL.

Back on to this update, I really feel bad for those that have been having issues, moreso than myself getting the update. I haven't been experiencing any of the same issues, with exception to Netflix, which I don't use that often yet.

So, is there a device that a GB upgrade has gone off, for the most part, without a hitch? Seems like about anything they try this with either they never end up releasing or when its released it seems to cause more issues than anything else. Moto, Samsung, HTC, doesn't seem to matter which carrier either. GB seems to cause problems. Just something I've noticed, anyone else?

I firmly believe its not the updates being issued by Sprint. Its all the 12 year olds running around with smartphones. "My app doesn't work right." Uninstall app then reinstall it. "My voicemail icon won't go away in the notification bar." I would go into applications, find the app, and clear data. Not all apps are codes for gingerbread. Talk to the developers, don't blame HTC/Android/Sprint.
