Extended battery is it all that?

This was a concern of mine too. I have the car dock and love it! I only use the car dock when I'm traveling long distances though. So I decided just to keep the stock battey and cover in my center console. My car dock in always kept behind my seat. So when I need them, it's really a quick switch and setup.

I use navigation for geocaching locally too, so those short trips I just leave the extended battery in and have the phone on the seat.

It does take some extra time. But it's totally worth it. To me it's like when I cancelled Sirius radio recently to use Slacker and Pandora in my car instead. Sure, it's one extra step of plugging my phone into the AUX...but doing that saves me $14/month.

The slight inconvenience is a trade off for greatly improved battery life, imo.

If youre already doing this, you shoulda just got the ebay batteries imo.

Not to steal the TC's "thunder" (Get it?) but I found this on Amazon. After deciding to get the TB over the i4, how long would this battery last?

  • Fits in existing space so no replacement door is needed
  • Made from the highest quality Japanese Lithium Ion cells
  • Capacity: 1600mAh
  • To obtain the full capacity of your battery, leave the battery/your phone on the charger for an additional 2-3 hours after the charging indicator turns green or the battery status shows full.
  • For use with: HTC MyTouch 4G/ThunderBolt

The battery is almost 2 times the size of the original battery the t-bolt comes with. Does the battery offer almost 2 times the battery life between charges than the stock battery?

I notice the stock battery gets awfully warm at times, does the extended big boy get as warm?

On 4G how much battery life do you get out of the extended vs stock battery?

The extended battery is more comfortable to hold and I can get 12 hours out of it now.

On stock battery I was getting about 8-12 hours on a full charge

On the HTC 2750 battery, I am getting about 16-24 Hours on a full charge with the same usage and about 12-16 hours on very heavy usage (Playing games all day, youtube, streaming other video, etc...

Yes it still gets warm if it is working hard, all batteries do.

Worth the price and thickness for me.

+1

with this battery you will have all the t-bolt experience, sync every 5 minutes, twiter, facebook, mail etc..

widget refresing every minute...

screen at autobrightness always..

animantions everytime...

1 hour drive home with pandora streaming over 4 g with the screen always ON.. and the battery just dropped 15 %...

this battery has juice!!!!

Hey, does the extended battery effect the way the phone sits with the kickstand open at all?

No it doesn't...at least I haven't noticed and I always use my little buddy the kickstand:)

I got the extended battery a couple weeks ago and I love it! I never worry about HAVING to keep it on the charger all day long. I actually just started using the standard battery again so that I can use the car dock, but I just couldn't stand how fast the battery drained. I went back to the extended battery and am worry free again. I'm sure I can tweak the settings on my phone to get a little better battery life from the standard, but I like the way everything is set. I also agree with what others have said, I like the feel of the phone in my hand with the extended battery, I have a better grip. My issue right now is that I'm trying to find a good car dock that will allow the extended battery. I actually found a YouTube video that shows a guys modifying the oem car dock to allow the extended battery. I might give it a try.

I get some music videos when I click on the link :(

ETA: Never mind, I got it to work on my TB since it's the mobile site. That is a good review, Gobluejd posted it in the forum. I'm actually looking for a car dock that works with the extended battery.

Sorry read right over the word car. I was thinking of ordering one to see if I could somehow hack it to use in the car. My dash isn't totally flat but it might work. I have not found a good car dock. It would be nice if it had bluetooth, worked with the extended battery and could play on my car stereo. Not to much to ask is it:)
