Root Cm7 1.1

I ran nav a bit yesterday and had a slight issue as well. The first time I started it, I got a GPS lock, written directions and turn by turn voice but a black screen. Thought maybe I didn't have gmaps installed. Exited nav, checked for gmaps (it was there) and restarted nav. This time, worked like a charm. That has been my only issue so far with 1.2.

I read on rootzwiki someone else had the same problem with the black screen. He said he was going to try the method I used below.

Just as an update in case anyone cares I got my turn by turn working and am officially on MR2.75 for the foreseeable future. I ran 3 speed test and the average was around 38 down 13 up  The highest average I'd ever gotten before was 25 down 6 up. I did the following to get my GPS working properly..

Full wipe
Flashed BAMF 3.0 RC4, got GPS signal then reboot>recovery
Full wipe again
Restored my MR2 CM7 backup from last night, opened maps>navigation and instantly got the turn by turn directions. I've tried it multiple times since and it's definitely working

I thought the people who said to do this method were crazy as I don't see how the hardware can keep it's software settings through a full wipe and restore, but it friggen works! I'm so psyched you have no idea. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning now that I know this ROM is working 100% properly :D

is the MR2.75 radio you are referring to the one that just came out in the OTA from this link?
[RADIO] Official OTA MR2 Radio 1.39.00.0627r [7/8/2011] - xda-developers
I would then assume that you have flashed the mr2 version of CM7 correct?

cool, i have been spending the last hour or so trying to figure out this whole radio situation. People calling MR2 radios that weren't actually an OTA really confuses me now that we have an actual MR2 radio.

thats why we had been calling the newest the mr2.75,lol. it prolly would be a lil less confusing if we started calling it the 627 radio.

Got a problem some of you guys may be able to help me with.

Widgets like Beautiful Widgets and the Google web site on stock browser both show my location as in Switzerland (I am in New Jersey) but Google Maps (using GPS) shows my correct location. Running GPS Test I get a solid lock on like 10 satellites so I am pretty comfortable ruling out the GPS itself.

Anything particular I should look at for troubleshooting and perhaps remedying this?

I have the same problem with the weather in Minimalistic Text Widget. I set a location manually for a day or so then switch back and usually I'll be good. Give it a try. For what it's worth, a lot of people have said that they are having trouble with location and Beautiful Widgets

i take it youre in a strong 4g area?

have you checked your network mode in setting/wireless and networks/mobile networks/network modes? if you have it set for CDMA +LTE/EvDo,try setting it to CDMA+EvDo until you get a good, solid green 3g. then switch it back.

for now,i keep the "lte switch" app on the homescreen so its easier to get to those settings.

Thanks, I know where's it's located, though. I was going to post a screen shot to show you guys what it looked like, but after I posted that I realized I wasn't running CM7 right now.

Scotty, I just pulled a brain dead move and instead of hitting the quote button I hit the edit button and destroyed your post  My bad!! Sometimes I forget that I'm a guide and there's an "edit" button next to "quote" on every post and sometimes click the wrong one.

What I was TRYING to say regarding MIUI is it's very theme friendly so a lot of people who are heavily into theming like it. I have seen some pretty impressive screen shots of MIUI. That being said, I love theming my phone as much as the next guy, but I don't think I could take not having an app drawer and my apps spread across all my screens. If any of you have seen the screen shots on my profile page you'd understand why. I like very, very minimal screens.

Again, my apologizes, sir

lol,you are forgiven,sir.

for what its worth, you can still run LP and have an app drawer,IIRC... pretty sure thats how i ran it on my inc.

id have to theme it to the point that it didnt have the goofy, cartoony, iphone lookin like icons :D

Yea, after I posted that I think I remember seeing somewhere you could use an alternate launcher as well.

Hey, waddaya know, I hit the QUOTE button

Quick question, any chance that reflashing the radio and CM7 would help my problem. I am almost ready to go back to my mr1 backup where everything worked fine. The only reason i moved to the new radio was because slayher was talking about not doing anymore mr1 builds, which is fine if everything works. It seemed he and many others are having great success on this radio, so far my battery life has been worse, and i don't get solid 4g, or really 4g at all. Me and many others are lost as to what to do. I really want this to work.

wipe cache and dalvik cache as well?
Yep all three

sounds stupid chipp0, but some people recommend to wipe data, cache, and dalvik 3 times before you flash. After i had problems with RC1.1 i did this and reflashed, with no problems after that at all. Also did it when i recently flashed RC1.2 also no issues have come up yet.

Yeah the first time i did a full wipe but for some reason it just felt so laggy!
Anyway, after the second wipe and install it been running perfect. The only issue ive encountered is that i get no GPS lock on my location :( I believe i read somewhere on here that there is a fix for that though. Once i get that squared away ill be good to go. Im really loving the battery life right now :D

You could try reflashing the radio. When the 0627r radio first came out on Friday I flashed it and all seemed fine, but the next day texts wouldn't send and I was having other problems. I made a backup and then flashed back to mr1 then back to 0627r and I've been having no issues with it since.

I've been trying to find some info on this, but I can't seem to dig any up.

How close is RC1.2 to being considered final? How close is the TB to finally being added to the CM nightlies?

1.2 is as stable as any ROM right now. AFA being "final" I don't think a ROM is ever final until a developer gives up working on it. I'm not 100% sure why the TB isn't on the nightlies list. I could make an educated guess, but it would be just that, a guess.

If you want AOSP nightlies I'd check out OMFGB if I were you. From what I've heard it's just as stable as CM7 and LTB and you can get your flash on every night
