Bought it last week, am I a sucker?

Last week I had an accident with my Droid X, while I had insurance, using it would have meant no insurance for a year, due to this being my second accident in less than a year. I have had insurance for years and never made a claim, but that is another story.

I was eligible for an early upgrade, which I guess can only be done through Verizon. I went to Costco, but they said I had to go through verizon, so even though I was leaning towards the charge, I got the hard sell on the bolt. To make it a little sweeter they gave me some extras, maybe 50 dollars worth, one of which, the car charger, I really do not need.

I have one more week to take this back. I am ok with the phone, but hate that so many new ones are coming out next month. Naturally I have nothing to tide me over until then, though I am starting to wonder if I could stomach the centro for three weeks.

Was this a bad buy?

I would've waited only because once the new phones come out Verizon typically puts their older phones on sale. So even if the TB is everything you'd hoped it would be, I would've at least waited for a wider variety of phones to see how the prices hold up.

Oh and to answer your question, I think we're all suckers at one point or another.....

Try to be patient would be my advice. If your gut tells you to wait then do so. You can check out what you'll get in a month and still buy the Thunderbolt if you wanted it, so you'll have the best of both worlds. I lived without a smartphone for years, and I got along just fine, so three weeks should be a piece of cake.

Pretty much what everyone else has said, but I don't expect anything to come out that would lure me away from the TBolt for at least another 4 to 6 months and since mine is doing everything I had hoped it would when I got it, I expect to be happy with mine until it's time to renew my contract.

I do love my TBolt and I got in on the unlimited data, so that probably makes a difference.

There are some of us (like me) who don't regret our Thunderbolt purchase, but we're not the most vocal out there. Right at this exact moment, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat for someone else on the plan if they were eligible and needed a phone. If you can get them to throw in the extended battery as one of your "freebies", that'd be a deal clencher for me. 4G, depending on the signal in your area (the fewer the bars, the worse it is), can be a huge battery hog.
