Hi,

Kies keeps telling me there is no upgrade for my Galaxy S. Yet I am on 2.1

How can I go about upgrading the phone myself and what version of android do you recommend for my phone?

It's really slow on times, freezes, crashes.. Grrrr

Thanks

This is the info from my phone:

1) Model Number = GT-I9000
2) Firmware Version = 2.1-update1
3) Baseband Version = I9000XXJF3
4) Kernel Version = 2.6.29 root@SE-S602 #2
5) Build Number = ECLAIR

PDA = I9000XXJF4
PHONE = I9000XXJF3
CSC = I9000TMUJE6

Thanks for you help.

Sorry for a late reply. You can manually upgrade your GT-I9000 to latest Gingerbread.

News - www.SamFirmware.com has everything you need to start. You need to register and then you can download Gingerbread like XXJVK or even later versions. You will need Odin software to flash the new ROM into your device.

Do a little search on how to flash ROM using Odin, you will get dozens of tutorials.
