***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

There's only one thing clear to me at this point. Too much has happened today and we need one of Chief's summary posts. I'm lost.

Sorry, can't help you right now... I'm as bewildered as everybody else!

This thread just goes to show that the only constant in the universe is change. And baby, things are changing fast in the Nexus world!

EDIT: Just 4-1/2 days to go!

It's not a lesser spec'ed device compared to anything thats already out there..

And then down the road, it just gets better..

nowhere did i say it was lesser spec'd when compared to other existing devices. what i said was that, between the 2 sets of specs which leaked this morning, the one supposedly coming to VZW is the lesser.

well, it is looking more and more like there will be 2 different devices. if that is the case, and the GSM/WiMax carriers end up with the GSMArena-leaked specs, imo those are improved specs over the BGR/DL-leaked specs supposedly coming to VZW. again, i don't think Google is going to debut ICS on VZW, and then shortly follow it up with a better device on the other carriers. if this second device is for other carriers (the ones who already have the GS2), then i think we are looking at Q1 2012 (as rumored over at DF) for the second device to release.

I know I'm gonna be late with this, but screw it!

...or not?

Nexus Prime

Wow, someone put in some serious effort to create that image! The metadata shows they worked on it almost continuously from 9am-2:15pm today using a Mac, saving it dozens of times before (someone else?) finally cropping it on a Windows box to upload it.

I have no idea whether it's real, but it sure is gorgeous!

I also like spec from GSM arena better. Though I don't think it's impossible for Sammy to use new Exynos 4212 with new GPU and get it working with LTE, I'm still leaning to OMAP 4460 due to timing and Google's processor selection for ICS. Probably the real spec is somewhere between two extremes (BGR this morning and GSM arena afternoon) in terms of processor, battery, camera.

Correction: The information that we are getting is changing. Google/Samsung/VZW have known for quite some time what they are planning to announce on the 11th. They just aren't passing that info along to us until next week. :)

hm...

i noticed BGR mentioned the code-name "galaxy nexus" for verizon exclusive

GSM is talking about the "Nexus Prime" and no word on some exclusive stuff...

maybe they're both right... Verizon gets the Galaxy Nexus with the a little bit less impressive specs, and a month (or sth) later the rest of the world gets the Nexus Prime with its impressive specs...

just a thought...

OMG i hope that is not the case. It does sound so VZW though............please, please be wrong !!

Didn't we already decide that the profile angle is upside down... so how could it be real? It's a nice render though.

I don't think this two different SoC's on two different phones hold much water. They are both NEXUS phones right? That means they are pure vanilla Google phones. Therefore they are the first to get updates. I don't see Google having to do updates for two different phones. They will just do the update for one phone and one SoC. JM2C

I had wanted the SGSII, so as long as what Verizon gets is at LEAST that, I will be happy, it seems like it will at least be straight up ICS, and as good as the SGSII so thats good enough for me. That's what I am going to hold the baseline at, if it is better, that is just sprinkles on the Ice Cream :D IMO.
