If you use the ProClip mounting system and happen to have a device holder for the original iPhone, it's a perfect fit for the N1. I really like the felt covering they only seem to use for iPhones and their universal holder so the N1 is well protected in car.

Hmmm, I'm going to try mine in the car today. I have one for an iPod Touch 1st Gen. I know that it's squarer at the edges but I never thought to even try the fit!!
I contacted Brodit (they are the manufacturers of ProClip products) and asked about when the N1 holder would be available. They told me that they are working on one and I had to check back on their site in a couple of weeks, that was last week. They're usually good with communications so I'll probably get another email from them saying they have something available. I'll post up here if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Love their stuff by the way, by far the best you can buy to mount various devices in cars.

Brodit/ProClip has finished two holders for the N1. They have a standard holder as well as a powered version. The powered version is real nice if you're using BT in the car and don't need audio out on the phone. What I haven't seen on their newer phones is their HTC cabled one that gives you the triple output of mini usb for power, headphone jack for audio and the usb headset. This is nice because you can run power and audio from the cable and only have one cable running up to the phone. I'm trying to get them to sell the long cable separately so people can do a nice clean install. I'm also trying to get them to do an adjustable version with that connection so you could use any HTC phone with the bottom center mounted connection. But at least selling the cable separately would be a start.

The two holders below are not yet available on ProClip's site. Haven't gotten an eta yet, but it should be soon. If anyone's interested and wants to save a few dollars, let me know.

The current one for the iPhone 1G and 2G (#875168) is better as it has the felt covering. I'd be nervous with the one you show here as it may scratch the phone. I got my 875168 today and the N1 fits in perfectly.

I just wish they would make the holders with the felt covering like they do for iPhone. The finish on the N1 is not super resistant and I would worry about the holder scratching the sides of the N1. If you use the pouch that came with the N1 you probably already have discoloration on the bottom of phone from rubbing while in pouch. I'm going to stick with 1st Gen iPhone holder for N1.

well I'll definitely report back to them about adding the padding. And also mention about the gen 1 iphone fit. Do you have a pic of it in there? I get emails from people asking about the N1, would be nice to show them one with it in there and show it to ProClip as well. If it were me, I'd pick up the padded one just because I could.

Hi there. The thread http://androidforums.com/nexus-one/40717-brodit-car-mount.html shows the 875168 1G/2G iPhone Tilt/Swivel holder with the N1 fitted. This is the one I have just purchased and I can confirm that it is a great fit for the phone. I couldn't wait till Brodit released the official version so I went ahead and bought this. As you can see it has felt lining as well. Very happy with mine.

Took the plunge today. I just got the basic swivel mount. I've already got a car charger so I'll just use that. I think it's going to work out great cuz I've got a short Aux. In cable coming out of the back of my stereo so I'll be able to mount my phone right next to it. Also, my iPod that I was using just died! I'll give a review after everything comes and I get it mounted in my 2004 Chevy Silverado.

Looks pretty nice. Only difference I can tell other than the felt lining is that the one made specifically for the Nexus One comes higher up on the sides and looks like it has some branding on it. Felt lining would be pretty nice. How well does the iPhone one hold the Nexus in landscape mode?

It hold the N1 perfectly in landscape. I did notice the difference in the side lengths but it has no impact in the fit of the N1 to the iPhone holder.

I've had it in landscape quite a few times as I'm driving around and it never feels like its going to slide out or anything.

Oh and the Brodit.se logo IS on the side of my iPhone holder, that picture may be outdated or something.

Maybe I'll try to cancel my order then tomorrow and get the felt lined iPhone one. Thanks for the feedback!

I have the N1 holder with the built in charger. It fits really nice. I too am concerned about the tightness of sliding the phone into the holder and I called ProClip with my concerns and they told me not to worry about it. Every time I slide it out, I look at the side and so far Im not seeing any wear whatsoever.

I dont know why they elected to not put felt on the sides of the holder, especially with what they are charging for the things.

LOL! Well It's good to hear that you haven't noticed any wear yet. How many times to you think you've slid it in and out (the phone and the holder i'm talking about :D). I really don't want to go through the hassle of cancelling my order so I think I'll just leave it and hope it isn't an issue.

Is that the whole package? It looks like its missing the actual mount from the pictures on the website.

What does the mount look like? Can't really tell from the website..from one picture it looks like it hooks into a mount and the other it looks like it has a flat piece that you would stick on your dash.

If you've never bought a ProClip (Brodit) mounting system then let me enlighten you.
You need a vehicle specific mount first. There are lots of options of location within the vehicle - centre console, over centre fans, over right fans, etc.
Once you have that, it provides a basic flat platform for mounting the device specific holder you require.
The holder can be passive, active, static, tilt/turn and so on.

The vehicle mount clips into the car's existing interior.
The device holder screws onto the vehicle mount and you're done.

I have had a couple of different device holders in my car but haven't changed the vehicle mount as it's pretty much plug and play.

Hope that helps buddy.
