I use a Samsung SII running Android 2.3.4. WAV files didn't open using the native Music software. Tried Remote Wave Free, but this didn't work, even after i did set it as default using a number of methods, including the suggestion from gmail (thanks). In fact, if you are a gmail user, Remote Wave Free would be just fine, as gmail gives you the option (using preview) to select your software and Remote Wave comes up as an option. But i don't use gmail, and my native email software didn't give me the option to select Remote Wave (perhaps because it doesn't show up in applications). So i bought WavPlayer for $0.99. Unlike Remote Wave Free, this comes up in the native email software as an option to open the WAV file attachment with. This is all i need at this point; i don't need to set it as default, as this may affect other things. Based on my experience and needs, this $0.99 WavPlayer exactly fixed my problem within my native email software, plus this software actually shows up in the applications, and provides a number of settings to adjust if necessary (which i have not fiddled with, but may come to appreciate). Since i didn't buy the $0.99 version of Remote Wave, i can't comment if it would have worked as well, but if it didn't show up in the applications (as was the case with Remote Wave Free), i'm not sure that even the paid-for version would have fixed may problem. I'm no technoid and i have lost several hours of work time to fix this problem. Shame on Android, for wasting their small business users' time on something that is an obviously needed fix. And shame on the pbx system companies for not evolving their systems to give an option to issue vmails in mp3, which pretty much everything can open. Thanks to everyone on this forum, which helped me with a fix, so i wanted to contribute some feedback.
