Rezound Weight & Thickness

I am considering buying a HTC Rezound. I was wondering if people have had issues or problems with the size or weight of this phone?

It's got a little weight to it, but nothing too bad. I'm the wrong person to comment on thickness though, because I use a case just so its thicker. To me it just makes it easier and more comfortable to hold.

For me personally I like the size and I don't have a problem w/ texting w/ one hand. Weight isn't an issue for me either. I usually put my phone in my purse which doesn't feel like it weighs it down and once in a while I will put it in my back jeans pocket. Have you gone to the stores to check out the phones and felt it in your hands? Besides checking out the phones to see how well they function I held it in my hand to make my decision when I was trying to decide on this phone and another. In these forums you will probably get 2 different responses-the ones who say they like the size/weight and the others who don't. Also, things to consider: if you're going to be using a case, w/o a case, if you're going to be putting it in the pockets alot or carry it around in a bag, etc...

i was very impressed with the feel of the device. Pictures of it don't translate to real world feel at all. Mine felt good in the pocket , felt good in the hand and even tho it had the same screen size as my old DX had, the RZ felt better to me.

I have small hands for a man and have no problem with the size, weight, or thinkness. I came from an OG Droid so it took some getting used to for the size. I use swype so the only issue I have is that I don't use it when the phone is in landscape mode, because it makes the screen to large to trace one handedly. However, I don't really need the phone to be in landscape mode to type anyway since it's large enough vertically to type effectively with swype or not.

I keep a Seidio Active case on my phone which adds a little thickness and weight. It's not so bad but the OG Droid probably weighed about the same so I'm probably a little biased becuase I didn't come directly from a lighter phone.

When I travel I bring the ext. battery which adds even more thickness but I go caseless when I'm using it. The phone with the standard battery and with my case are probably about the same so I never really notice a considerable difference.

All in all, it's a good phone. Not perfect (battery life), but very good (camera, screen res, audio, width for a 4.3" phone).

I did try out a few phones at the VZW store. It is always hard to tell about phones in the store though. I think this is because they have it glued to that backing so you can't really "hold" the phone naturally. You know what I mean?

Honestly, I like my current phone which is a small and easy to carry dumphone. I am a guy so I don't carry around a purse. I most likely will be putting it in my back pocket.

I am a petite woman in my 30's and I love this phone. I have tiny hands. I'm coming from the Droid X to the Rezound. This phone feels great. I have a silicon case on it that I got 5 for $10 on ebay and love it. Feels very natural and not heavy or bulky at all.

Shes got a few spare tires on er..comfortable though. Deff noticed the heftier difference(could be a good thing tho) after messing with my old DINC2...though is just an improvement to look forward too when I get my next upgrade!

Screen size is perfect for my precious hands...the nexus screen was awkward to hold, I always felt like it was going to jump out of my hands...lol.

I have an extended battery and a case on it. A bit weighty but I like the feel of it.

15 grams heavier than my last phone which was the DroidX, less than 10%. Weight is not an issue IMO unless you get the extended battery.

I came from a Samsung Facsinate and it seemed very light to me and i forgot it was in my pocket several times. The Rezound is heavy but not too heavy. The weight is also distributed evenly in such a way that it doesn't feel heavy in the hand either. The back plate also feels extremely good in the hands and i believe that the true answer will be to actually go to the store and hold it. I went to Bestbuy and held one and it felt so good in my hand that i instantly fell in love with it. Its a great phone and i dont know if any other phone out on the market has a better feel and weight for being held in the hand. Its great for exercising too. It weighs my gym shorts down a little but its nothing that you will really notice. Overall great feel for a phone.

I like the weight, makes me feel like I got something for my 300 and 2 year contract. Feels solid, like I can put it in my pocket and go snowboarding and not have to worry about it snapping in half.

Its like any phone, you get used to how it feels. I'm always shocked at lighter or thinner phones because I'm used to how this one feels now. It's something that just becomes the norm when you handle it all the time. One thing that I noticed immediately and still is how it kind of fits naturally in hand and the weight feels right to me.

I think people over think phone weight and size. My friends mom wanted a small light weight phone, she got the razr, which IS light but feels bigger to me. She now doesn't even think about it. You just get used to it. My Droid x felt embarrassingly big when I first got it but after a few weeks it felt just right.

It feels nice, and has a good heft without feeling either cheap or a heavy slug that creates fatigue. Seems like Motorola and Samsung are ahead of the game on packing the internals to get a slim profile, though. The Google Nexus seems almost optimal, for my hand and pocket.

I'm a pretty small person at 5'7" at the age of 15, but the phone feels really comfortable. I like the extra weight to the phone because it makes it seem like it's made well and not going to break easily. Only problem I have is when I take it to school, I wear shorts so it's uncomfortable since it flops around in my pockets and since it's so heavy always falls to the side over my chair. But this is more of a me problem and not because of the phone.

The size is awesome. I like bigger screens and with a 720p resolution it is amazing when watching videos or browsing the web.

My only issue with this phone is the dang battery. I think I have a faulty one as it won't charge to 100% and I can see the % left go down if I stare at the screen. I have a 3.8v battery and this is probably the issue. I'm going to take the battery back to get a new one and that will hopefully fix the problem.

You want a phone with weight.

I had the Galaxy Nexus and it's a really light phone. So light that if you put it on your lap you'll likely to forget about it and guess what happens when you stand up with the phone on your lap?

Even with the extended battery it's not to bad. With the normal battery it's perfect in my opinion. It has weight so you know where it is. Can you imagine a phone so light you forget it's in your pocket? You'll likely leave it some where and think its i your pocket.

At least thats how I am anyway.

I like the way the phone feels "substantial". When phones get to be credit card sized I'm going to hate 'em, LOL.

I put a case on the phone before I ever charged it up. I don't have much experience using it w/out the case.

But I do like the feel of the phone with the case. Feels really solid in my hand.

It doesn't feel to heavy at all either.

Comfort in the hand is determined more by size than weight ( geometry + ergonomics ) .....

Remember while the Razr, Nexus and Rezound have similar overall height and width dimensions ( 5.15 x 2.71 / 5.4 x 2.7 / 5.1 x 2.6 ) the form factor really influences the fit in the hand ( even a ginormous hand like mine

)

The Razr is basically all straight lines ( how does a square bottle of brew feel ) while the Nexus is curved but still perpendicular in its angles and the Rezound is not only the least in width and height but also has rounded corners and a contoured back ....... this geometric combination seems for many many consumers to surprisingly outweigh its relative thickness and weight. Even with my hands the Rezound is the most comfortable in my hand........and.remember......this comfort is based on long periods of time within the hand.

Not to mention.......the Rezound just works !!! What a concept - a ( highly ) functional phone

I've had the Rezound for about 2 weeks now. Got one with the extended battery and a VZW case.

My first impression when they installed the battery and case at the VZW store and I held the Rezound in one hand and the DINC that I was replacing in the other was that this Rezound was as big as a brick.

But after using it for just this short period of time I have come to love the feel of the Rezound in my hand. With the curved back and the extra heft it feel really solid and it is not really heavy or hard to handle.

I carry the Rezound in a "murse" which has a nice pocket for a phone in it and that seems to be the only problem. The phone is almost too talk for the pocket. But I can live with that.

Despite what some consider too much thickness and weight, I love the heft that I get with the Rezound. I guess it can be said that Your Mileage May Vary when considering the weight and thickness of the phone.
