Is there a way to back up apps?

I came from using an iPhone and how easy it was to back up the phone and easily reload everything if needed through iTunes. Is there a way to back up all the apps on the Note so if something happens to the phone and I need to get all my apps back without having to remember every app I have downloaded and install them all again one by one?

Titanium backup which is a root-user app.

If you're not rooted, you'll need to do that first and then install Titanium from the Google Play store (buy the paid version, best $5 or $6 you'll spend on your phone, ever).

This will also allow you to dump carrier bloatware as well as freeze other system apps that may run rampantly otherwise.

Hope this helps.

Is there any downside to rooting the phone?

On its face, yes; it voids your warranty.

However, there is a simple fool-proof way to reset your flash counter (which is the only way for carrier or manufacturer to tell you've rooted), so in essence, no; there's no harm that can be done by rooting the device.

And in the end, if you never need to make a warranty claim, then there's no risk of harm on any level through rooting.

I have now rooted 3 devices and have not been sorry yet.

I have Titanium Backup App but my question is how do I reinstall my apps after a factory reset of sorts from the App??? Or is the backup itself on my SD card??

Backup should be in a folder on your internal SD.

However, I've also got my Titanium app folder backed up to Dropbox in case my phone were to magically combust or something, so they can just be dropped onto the internal SD of another phone.

Just a suggestion....
