Help How to wipe Dalvik-cache? Not on list of options in recovery mode.

Please can somebody tell me how to wipe my Dalvik-Cache?
"wipe dalvik-cache" is not on my list of options in recovery mode.

You have to be rooted to wipe dalvik. If rooted its in the advanced menu of cwm recovery.

However I don't want to invalidate my warranty.

Is there any way of clearning my Dalvik-Cache without doing so?

I am happy flashing stock roms but once I go off of this road I am going to need to reset binary counters and all sorts aren't I?

Why would you need to wipe dalvik cache if you are using stock roms?

The only way to clear dalvik without root would be to factory reset your phone as cache and dalvik get cleared during this process.

If your going to be flashing different ROMS then you should be factory resetting each time anyway, and as Shotty says, wiping dalvik cache gets done during this procedure as it is stored in /data

Hi....
I Factory Reset and also Wiped Cache before flashing stock rom.

My phone still will not turn on Wifi and drains the battery very quickly.
It's as though the phone is trying to turn Wifi on and that is draining the battery.

If I turn the phone off and on again and do not hit the Wifi button it will sometimes run for a long time not draining the battery (normal battery drain).
However I want to use Wifi so I need to try and get to the bottom of this.

To reiterate,
I want to stay with stock ROM (Gingerbread or ICS). I don't want to invalidate my warranty so don't want my binary counter to increment. I don't need root for any reason. I don't want a yellow "!" or triangle.

I just want Wifi working again.

I have stock firmware for Gingerbread and ICS.
They are both xxx.tar.md5 files.
I am happy flashing using Odin.
Do I need any other files?
xxx.pit etc ?

What should I do?

All I can think of, is to wait for a system update. As far as I know, these updates force a clearing of that cache during the app optimization phase.

I would surmise the OP got a new device since his last post

Or at the very least, an update was pushed to his device since.

Yeah this is ancient history. Who even cares about Dalvik cache anymore?

I've wiped them occasionally. Of course it's the ART cache these days, but (custom) recovery menus still tend to call it dalvik.
